Thanks, It's just that I've been going through some stressful situations. The finals are approaching, some of my friends and I are having trouble, and here I am, acting like an ass.

I know what you mean, Darksoldier, about how people are most likely going to vote lower because of the author's take on his/her own flash. But what differs is that the author has higher standards than anyone else. An example of this would be Krinkel's flash shorts, one which is literally named, 'Crap.'

Speaking about the Audio Department...

I know that when you want to join you have to go through a 10 day probation period, correct? Well, what do you do during it? Does it mean just wait 10 days and then you can be a member of the NGDD?

I have a suggestion actually!

Instead of doing nothing but waiting during those 10 days I think the member that would like to join the Audio Department should have to do something Audio Related in those 10 days.

I suggest that either:

1) The user makes 15-20 Audio Reviews that are 4+ lines long and that have good criticism written in them.

It's actually pretty easy to do them if you do 5 a day because you could do 20 in 4 days then.

2) The user submits an Audio Entry that passes and gets a score between 3.60-5.00!

Post your thoughts on these suggestions please!

When it's put this way I support it. A very nice idea DarkSoldier. It should separate the serious ones from the ones that just come and join and post once in every week.

Because there aren't many voters there, the people that want to get their name high vote 0 on a lot of submissions so their submission looks good. Here's another thing I've wanted to mention for a while: Promotion...

I don't think people should be automatically promoted by XR. I reckon the user who wishes to be promoted should message his department leader requesting to get promoted BUT he must have the minimum amount of XR for that position. Someone may have a lot of XR but hasn't really been a good member in the NGDD and doesn't deserve to be promoted for certain reasons.

And to climb the main NGDD ranks, the user has to send a request to a Commander or a General. It may be a little more work for the leaders but I'm sure they can take it.

And while I'm at this crusade, speaking of leaders, Cole hasn't really been active lately. Not active enough to be the general. I like Cole, and I want him in the NGDD but I don't think he deserves his position anymore. It takes great responsibility and losing his position isn't what I'd call an embarrassment. He did will to get there in the first place so no disrespect to him whatsoever.

Still, I think someone else, like DarkSoldier, should take his place. I mean, look at Dark! Ever since he got his chance, he has proven himself to become a high ranked member in this crew! I say give it a few more days and if Dark keeps this up, promote him to General and put Cole back in his usual department. So who's with me on this?

15-20 reviews seems easy. I usualy rack up about 40 a week. Im working on a song at the moment aswell.

I understand what you mean completely yet I'm suggesting to give the user that's wishing to join the Audio Department the choice of either making an Audio Submission or writing 15-20 Audio Reviews. So technically if their submission gets a low score even though it may have not deserved it that's the current risk that they're willing to take which if they choose this option will be the risk they're taking even if it may not sound fair it is their choice.

I don't think the current system is making the new NGDD members active. In fact when a couple of members post the others don't and then the others start and the couple of other members stop...

I'm trying to suggest a system that could 75% guarantee that new members requesting to be in the Audio Department will be active by making them make a song that in the title will say "[NGDD (whatever the title is)" and the Authors comment will be "Entry For The NGDD. (Include Whatever Text Your Want Afterwords)" and if they're are accepted then they make take off the "[NGDD]" and "Entry For The NGDD" OR make them do 15-20 Audio Reviews that are 4+ full lines long and that have good helpful criticism written in them.

The system is a "Work In Progress (WIP)" and i am still open to suggestions.

The reason that i am saying that this system can guarantee active users is that who will make a song just to be in the Audio Department and then be inactive after putting all of that effort into getting a score between 3.60 and 5.00 and then be inactive or having to make 15-20 reviewsjust to be inactive? There could be some inactive users but remember, i only guaranteed 75%!

Cole's a great guy and everything but if you look at his recent posts from January 2008 he only posts in here every 2 weeks. If you're looking for a General that is going to be active then i don't really know what to tell you except that i believe that Cole's life in reality is keeping him occupied from Newgrounds. I know we made Cole" NGDD Commander" before because of Phantom's real-life problems which kept him inactive and then we decided to have AnalPenguinFarming to be "NGDD Commander" and which he has been doing a great job up to date but are we going to take away Cole's current position away because of inactivity like we did to Phantom? I'd say that's the big question around here.

Hmmm... I like the idea now. Maybe the NGDD audio department leader can decide whether the audio piece is good enough instead of basing it on the score. Even if it doesn't appeal to the dep. leader's taste, a good leader would know what has effort put into it and what has merit. And I vouch for the review idea too.

Don't worry about it. Three days isn't much, but I'd also like to add that you were banned unfairly. Nonconstructive reviews like that, especially when it's obviously not on purpose, should only get the review deleted. The ban we unjust. Bad moderator, BAD!

Yeah, yeah. I haven't been that active. Not even been watching this thread much, either. Problem is, I've been busy. On top of that I used to be able to check out the forums at work, but no longer can. They block NG threads as "GAMES". How frikkin stupid can they be? XR is NGDD based Experience Points.

For the reviews system or whatever you called them. It is not official. It is just an idea. So... basically all you're still suppose to be doing is being active by posting in the NGDD.

Just continue postings in the NGDD until your probation is over.

Also, just checked and Night-Mare was already in the NGDD. He requested entry back in February. You can see it in the NGDD profile under memberlist where he posts there.

Also, speaking of the NGDD profile, we need to make the latest post the tabs to the places in that profile. For some reason it's way back on the 3rd or 4th post or something like that. It's totally useless there. The cleaner and easier that profile is to navigate for us and especially new people, the better.

Someone, whoever runs that profile, get on that please.

I'll be fairly honest and say that I'm supposed to be the one picking up the slack for the memberlist, but I've been so busy with everything it's hard to find time. I've been looking for a good member to become the second listkeeper since HOS hasn't been with us lately. Accepting applications for a new listkeeper.

I've also forgotten to tell all of you that I am now the Elite Guard Barracks Liason. Basically my job is to relay what is going on here in a news report weekly to the EGB and hopefully they can help us out. Every Friday I'll be making a nice long report for them to read, whereas here I'll just inform you all of what is going on - unless of course you all find it necessary for me to make you a report, too.

I'd like to apologize for the lack of things being done around here, but as I've informed you all I have a job in Connecticut paying me $1000 a week, but the hours are long - I'm talking like 7 a.m. to around 6 or 7 p.m., which is why I haven't caught up on anything because I'm so exhausted. Posting is one thing, but concentration on a memberlist along with the everyday duties of Commander are pretty rough. This is why I'm looking for a Listkeeper who is a regular member, not a Department Head.

Also, nice to see you back RSQ, it's been too long. Hopefully we'll see you around here more, and don't worry I haven't given away your Department Head position.
