It'd be pitiful :D.
Though Dream Theater hooking up with Opeth to make some Blackened Progressive Death Metal would own too fucking much.
Dream Theater + Akerfeldt = ownage.
James can sing his nice little melodies and Mike and growl teh shit :D.
Come on Roadrunner! Force those two bands together!
Petrucci, Akerfeldt, Portnoy, Myung...... cums, cums, cums.
Listens to 'Lie'
I can play that on my 7 string :).
D string broke yesterday though and I'm afraid to change it :(, I hate Floys Roses'.

That would be awesome, because it would sound great and I'll laugh at all the fags that get mad about them being black/death metal. XD

Let's make a petition and force them to do it.

Of course not.
But they are both on Roadrunner :P.
They're the only ones who can make it happen.

I just saw the video for Constant Motion from systematic chaos. It´s quite good. I like the CG ants and the swinging balls with the majesty logo on them.
Lol, and it´s the first time i seen LaBrie with a moustache and beard. And Petrucci´s got his long hair back - now the only one that doesn´t fit in hair wise is Jordan.

Jordan is allowed to have a skin head, for he has a nice smile :).

Like i said - Systematic Chaos is growing on me. I like it alot more than i used to. At first i thought it was -meh- but now i think it´s great. I still think my favourite track on the albulm is Forsaken though. And in the presence of enemies part 1 i like better than part 2.

Forsaken is the worst on the album I think.

Part 2 is mega epic.
I don't see how Part 1 can be better.

It's an alright track. The chorus gets annoying, though.
Speaking of Systematic Chaos - "The Ministry of Lost Souls" Probably the best track on there.

I really like Forsaken :/ IMO Constant Motion is the worst, it just doesn't really work for me at all.
I don't see how Part 1 can be better.
I listened to part 1 more, so i currently prefer it, but I think part 2 is probably better and will probably grow on me a lot more.
Also, Dream Theater is playing here in Toronto tommorow. Unfortunately I thought I had plans and now it seems too late to get tickets :( . Next year DT, Next year.

Forsaken is a decent song for what it is. I agree though, Constant Motion is my least favourite song on the album.

Yeah, I listened to part 1 more initially because it is basically in-your-face-awesomeness from the get-go. Two did take a bit more time to grow on me but I love them both... as one big song it's ridiculously epic.

Damn! They're easily number one on my list of bands I want to see live but they wont come to Winnipeg for some reason. The fact that you had the opportunity but didn't makes me hate you :P

Not really, because for a second on that video, I thought he looked like James Hetfield.

I think Prophets of War is the worst on the album, because of the stupid lyrics about Iraq and the song overall isn't so great.
Part 2 is mega epic.
I don't see how Part 1 can be better.
I'll just say that both parts are awesome.

I'd have to agree.
Prophets Of War is the worst, with Repentance close behind. Forsaken is pretty good, In The Presence Of Enemies Part 1 is better than Part 2, though I like both but prefer high energy riffing to epic stuff.

Wow, there seems to be quite a few conflicting views on SC around here! I actually quite enjoy Prophets Of War, although I agree the lyrics are a bit on the lame side. I have to be in the mood to listen to Repentance, but I like it quite a bit as well so I don't see where you're coming from :(

Prophets of War was a great track. The lyrics, however, weren't.
Repentance is also one of the greater tracks, sounded a bit like what Opeth does.

It burns deep down inside of me
We have ourselves to blame
We shouldn't have
Watched that episode of Queer As Folk
Because it made us gay
And now my arse hurts

Repentance is one of the highlights of the album to me. After Presence of Enemies and Ministry of Lost Souls.
Prophets of War is good too, just because its really catchy. And that helps me ignore the silly theme.

Have you heard of "Ayreon"? Mikael Akerfeldt and James LaBrie both lended their vocals to the last album, and it's pretty damn sweet. Probably the closest you'll come to hearing Opeth and Dream Theater come together.

Yes, there are alot of conflicting opinions here of systematic chaos......so here´s mine...
In the presence of enemies part 1 - Great track, i loved it. A nice start to the albulm, probably my second fave on it.
Forsaken - Amazing! This is my favourite on the albulm......start is beautiful.
Constant Motion - It´s ok, but not on par with the rest of the tracks. Also, the fact that they made a video for this song before any other dissapointed me a tad. ;_;
The Dark Eternal Night - nice song. I really liked the intro riff, overall pretty sweet. 3rd favourite.
Repentance - I´m a big fan of ´this dying soul´ so i loved the melody of this track. However it was a little too slow and dragged on quite a bit without too much changes. Also toward the end, there was a bit too much talking over it.
Prophets of war - This is probably my least favourite on the albulm. It just didn´t really feel DT from the start. Plus the choir sort of crys every now and there didn´t do it for me.
The Ministry of lost souls - Nice track. Now this was epic. One of the slower ones on the albulm, but worked perfect. Vocals are perfect on this one.
In the presence of enemies part 2 - I really liked part 2 aswell. Nice creepy theme at the start. Really hard to put place it in favourite ranking....maybe 4th on the albulm.

I think The Ministry of Lost Souls is the second best on the album. Not the best because of In the Presence of Enemies, though.

I just think it's Prophets of War and parts of the Constant Motion that are the only bad parts of Systematic Chaos.

I didn't like Constant Motion all that much.
I feel it didn't fit in much with the album, sounded too mainstream-metalish.
The solos were amazing, though.

I've heard one song and I didn't like it. Though it was a single as it had a video for it, and I'm sure they have better songs, but that kind of deterred me from ever wanting to find out.

Anybody else thinks that Dream Theater should perform (once done) the Alcoholics Anonymous Suite in one whole chronologically-ordered-long-song-extrav aganza?

It's on the cards. Portnoy said that one of the reasons Repentance is more ballad-like is because during a future AA set they'd need a bit of a break in the suite from intense music playing, as is present in the rest of the suite.
He also mentioned he'd like two have a live album of just the suite. Wether this would be another "official bootleg", I don't know.
As for Systematic Chaos, 'd sayh my least favourite track is Constant Motion. It's an ok track I admit, but there's clearly much better songs on the album. Forsaken is brilliant though. Not too technical or anything, and I love the guitar squeals on the main riff.
