I just bought Live at Budokan. I have to say, it is much better than Score.
MOAR SONGS.
Instrumedley FTW.

And me getting into Dream Theater on a proper level would be when I got Octavarium and Awake?

I've yet to check out Live at Budokan. Score was great and there are some songs I'd like to hear on Live at Budokan.

Indeed.
Score is shite in comparrison.
The quality of sound on Budokan is amazing!
And John Petrucci was so fucking pretty at that time!

Lawl.
I actually perfer John's hair the way it was on score.
He looks like Mona Lisa/Jesus with long hair.
He looks too scrony with short hair.

So Live at Budokan is so fucking awesome? The track list looks really good, a lot better than Score, but it depends when I feel like getting the live album, which isn't soon.

FAG ALERT!

They both have their pros and cons.
Like on Score - They perform longer songs.
Budokan - Not as much.
Even though it has a longer play list, they both even out at the end.

I want to get it just because they perform Through Her Eyes and A Change of Seasons.
In fact, when I get the money - I'll go look for it.

I think so.
When I watched it I was just staring at the screen the whole time, loving every minute.
And with I was like 'OMG LIVE OCTAVARIUM WITH ORCHESTRAAAA OMG MUST BE GOOD MOMG OMGOMGGOGGOGMG'.
And I put it in, watched it, and was really disappointed. You can hear the crowd throughout the performance and its annoying, and the set list just got old fast. Budokan has the crowd cut out, so its just pure Dream Theater that you're hearing.
Maybe I was a case of moods, and I wasn't as high-spirited when I watched Score. But still... it should've brought me out my sulkiness, and it didn't :P.
Minus points for Score.
And pretty Petrucci = win :D.
Budokan wins just for that.
I'm shallow and I like looking at pretty people.... not old John Petrucci is the hugest arms ever!

Yeah, but I want to hear the crowd - It lets me know I'm not the only one enjoying it.
On the same topic: The crowd sounded much less smaller on Budokan. :(

Its cause it was recorded so that the band was picked up and not the crowd.
The recording on Score is due to sloppy recording.
Budokan looked a lot bigger when it showed the place. It was a huge stadium. Radio City Music Hall only looked like a smallish hall.

Oh, and Budokan is more Train of Thought based... seeing as it is the corresponding tour for that album :P.
So that should way it for you :P.

Indeed it has done. I´m gonna see if i can find it in some shop here. I doubt it will be in any, but i might have to order it.....they´re not that known here in Spain.
On a side-note. About 2 years ago they did a gig here in Spain, and i had just started getting into them. I only had ToT albulm at the time and i saw posters put up everywhere....they were gonna play in a city called Lorca, about an hour or so from where i live. They were gonna be playing with Iron Maiden, which was another good reason to go, being the ol´ legends that they are.
In the end i didn´t go though, mainly due to lack of transport there and back, also the ticket was about 70euros, but i really regret it, because i doubt they´ll be here in Spain again for a looong time.

Two shows in November...
Holy crap, they´re coming back!
Only thing is, both them shows are about 8 hours away from where i live, lol. Madrid and Barcelona are far up north. PLUS, they´re on the 12th and 13th on November, and i´m planning a trip back to London on the 5th till the 12th so i won´t be able to go anyway.
They´re doing a gig on October 13th in London - Wembley arena according to that site. If only i still lived in London - wembley was only like 10 minutes from where i used to live. Maybe i could go back then and catch the show there? Hmmm.....

I have tickets for the 12th October in Manchester. And I'm hoping to get ones for Glasgow too on the 11th :). Though I need to see if my girlfriend is going yet.
And Glasgow is a 3 hour journey (4 for me sometimes)... and I do that just to see a girl.... Dream Theater are well better.... so doubling it is acceptable.
I seriously recommend seeing them live.... absolutely fucking amazing.
And that was a show at a festival in a tent with about 10 minutes to sound check and forty minutes playing time.
Headline tour... if I had a vagina, it'd be wet at the thought ;).

Wahey!! I finally got those pics of my t-shirt. Ok, so they´re crappy quality, as usuall due to shitty camera.
The top image is the back and the bottom image is the front. ( the back photo has a sort of ghost image - don´t knock it for that, thats just the camera :D )

I'm not sure whether I want to get it or not. I don't want to get it, because of Shitty Scenes from a Memory, but would like to get it because of the tracks that aren't from SFAM.
