Okay. I'm going to give you all my personal opinion on the popular anime series in the most civilized manner possible.

Naruto is garbage. Now you're probalby going to ask me to state my reasons. Well here they are. Naruto is garbage because it is repettetive and boring. This is probably the part where you ask me for examples. So here you go.

Naruto is repettetive because it uses practically the same script over and over. How does it do this, you ask? Simple. In every battle, the characters encounter an extremely powerful enemy. One that has abilities far beyond theirs. And by some Lottery Winning odds, they gain some "new ability" that owns the bad guy instantly. It's an allright idea. At least it would be if it wasnt shown 3 times in a row. And if you ask me, 3 times in a row is pretty much borderline on the scope of repettetiveness. As for the script part, 50% of every episode goes pretty much like this:

Good guy:
"I'm going to defeat you with my super ultimate (insert japanese name here) move!!"
Good guy's thoughts: "This is going to eat up my chakra."
Everyone else's thoughts: "That's going to eat up his chakra."
Bad guy:
"Ha! That move will eat up your chakra!"
Good guy:
"Yes, but my (other move) will reduce the amount of chakra lost!!"

Sort of reminds you of Yugioh huh?

On to my next subject. Naruto is boring. Why? Simple. This show is supposed to be about Ninjas, right? According to the dictionary definition, ninjas are trained assasains who have great stealth capabilities. Therefore, you'd expect this show to be pretty action packed, eh?
NOT. Naruto is the exact opposite. A character will spend 10 minutes thinking about where to punch his opponent, 5 minutes actually punching him (please note that that's one episode already) and another 20 minutes of pointless dialogue between the characters about which super ninja move to use next. It is extremely boring and makes the show very difficult to watch. I mean come on! I REFUSE to beleive that ninjas actually spend 10 minutes talking between attacks.

I only had to read your second sentance and I already agree with whatever points you might have made. For one; ninjas are fucking lame. You might not know this, but a looooong time ago, in japan and whatever, ninjas were scum, it was about as low as you could get, killing people for money, and not even to their face, just a stab to the back then off they ran. they didn't even have real swords, just a crude piece of metal with a cord wrapped around the end, this was called a "ninja-to" and was usually left in the back of theif victim. Honor and coolness? I think not.

I saw the entire run of the show straight from Japan, and I can tell you its one of the less repetitive Animes I have seen.
Well the last season was just gaywad filler, but whatever.

It has a cast of like 50 characters who each almost have their own episode/ fight devoted to their story or their special skills.

Unlike Dragonball, which had goku doing the same 5 moves for about 270 episodes :o

Anime as a whole is usualy pretty repetitive, but its addictive because they use the "to be continued" format. The animes that are cut into single-episode stories are generaly more boring even though they have a lot more potential, i.e. Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and shit like that.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I personally think it's decent, because like Pox said, the show doesn't end up dominated by a super-uber powerful character, everyone plays a part.

Agreed.
Almost all anime that is dubbed in english and slapped on cartoon network or kids wb is shit. They all have the same plots and are repetitive.

They go to a place, They find a new pokemon, They talk, and then they blast off.

The only two animes I can think of that arent like that are outlaw star and rurouni kenshin. But rurouin kenshin didnt even get good untill the kyoto arc. Those are the only two animes that i watch.

But then, you've never seen Samurai Champloo. Sometime's its funny, sometimes it makes you wanna cry. Sometimes it makes you pissed off. (btw I've only seen ONE "to be continued" episode in there)
