Sounds like you guys have some work to do! I'll make it out to comicon someday..

I don't know if our little buddy Shane here notices this or not. But they don't usually allow crap into their competition. Unless by making enough money to go to Sundance he is going to just go there and watch some films. It also doesn't help that the name of his "movie" is Crazy Cartoon 3 yet it is live action (from the looks of the trailer). Also, the only thing I saw of this is any run of the mill thing you would see on youtube or any of those other viral video sites. It's just a bunch of kids running around. Ah well, we all have dreams. Maybe one day Shane will wake up and realize that his dream is far from coming true. Plus the next Sundance isn't until next year so he will probably be 14 at the time thus ruining his claim to be the first 13 year old producer.

Interesting change with the header bar. Also, the PM system works great! I'm wondering what other changes you have in store for the site?

The new header is functional, but it looks really plain, almost obtrusively so. I'm sure in the future more graphic upgrades will make it look better, but it works like a charm.

Like what dobio posted... it would be cool if it also said how many new PM's a user has had. But I guess clicking inbox is quicker than account options and then inbox.

Yeah, I'm confused about that trailer too. If it's live-action, why's it called Crazy Cartoon III? If it's a cartoon, why's the trailer live action and why are there no screenshots of the actual film? Also, what makes him think that this has a chance of being accepted into Sundance?

Frankly, the whole thing looks like a bit of a joke to me. I'll take that back if Shane himself replies here and says what the heck he was trying to do...

One thing: I wish that "account options" was in the middle and "inbox" was at the top... just so I don't have to scroll as far up to see my account options page.

Okay, this is me, Shane Collins, and I'm replying the posts here that actually have to do with me.

First of all, most of it is filmed inside of The SIMS 2 (and yes, I am trying to get licensing from EA Games to do this, but they haven't replied, even though they don't know I'm 13 yet). The live-action part itself is just a set-up to the cartoon part.

Secondly, this movie does actually have a plot. Even though the trailer looks random (and a new trailer will be up soon when we get permission from EA), if you actually watch the movie you'll see that the movie is a comedy about some kids that do very bad in school and were thrown into summer school. Naturally, they very much want to get out, and they find out about the fabled "thing that can do some stuff", which is being held by the Evil Man in the Mexican Hat. They think the "thing that can do some stuff" can help them get out of summer school (and all school after that), so they go on a quest for it after breaking away from the summer school teacher.

I'd like to reveal how this movie goes from being in the real world to the cartoon world, but I can't. Sorry. But here are some screenshots:

I don't like how it says "Logged in as liaaaam".. it doesn't fit in now with the buttons. I know why it's there, but I think it would look better if the three buttons were more centralized in the header.

Also, just an idea for notification on new PMs, maybe you could make a window appear on the page when you get a new PM. Not an actual window, but a sort of inner window thingy if you know what I mean (I'm pretty sure it's done with CSS, but I'm not sure)..

Ah, alright. I was wondering why there were no notification for new messages. Oh well, I like the header change with Inbox and log out buttons there. :D But that old login page, it gave me a bit of problems when I was depositing for my alts, but it's alright.
