in a couple weeks i'm holding a massice pro-war rally in the heart of berkeley... on the UC campus itself. all these anti war people, deep down, are just pissed that they weren't around a little over 30 years ago to protest the vietnam war, which was actually worth protesting, and also want fight some pigs. I just wish you guys would get it through your thick, grimey, jefferson-starshit-listening-to hippy heads that sometimes war is good. if we dont blow the fuck out of saddam, then he'll send some bombs thisaway. why? because he's crazy. plus, the people that we're gonna bomb would do the exact same thing to you if they had the chance. so kindly shut the fuck up and get back to doing something more useful than pretending to have a serious cause. rather than protest and tell everyone you run into to stop the war, which doesnt get anything done except piss people off, why dont you REALLY save some lives and do some community service work at a food drive or something, which i actually did.

good points. if i could, i'd go to that rally.

the "crying democrats" have pushed thier unconditional peace crap for too long. they seem to not have realised what peace is. peace is not just the absense of war. it is the absense of war-causing creeds. eliminated those who would disturb the peace, and you've got peace.

So you're angry at people because you they didn't attend a famous protest and you did?
What's so much more wrong about them protesting against war now then then for the Vietnam war?
We didn't want it then, and we don't want it now.

Um... I'd just like to point out that they have as much right to protest as you do, regardless of whether they're right or not, they're just exercising the same rights you were. Is it irritating, well yeah but free-speech can be a bitch.

The last thing Saddam would ever do is to send bombs our way. Why? Because he is not stupid - a bit on the pathological side and certainly not a very nice guy - but not stupid. And he knows that the only way he would be removed from power is if he did mess with the US. Now, if we were to attack and threaten his power, then he WOULD probably send bombs our way (or at Israel since he probably doesn't possess the long-range capabilities to reach us), but so would any country. The solution to avoiding terrorist attacks on the US from the middle east? How about not bombing the shit out of the middle east, that might help.

enjoy, odds are most of the campus will be there to protest you but hey some people enjoy sado-masochist rituals

all these anti war people, deep down, are just pissed that they weren't around a little over 30 years ago to protest the vietnam war, which was actually worth protesting, and also want fight some pigs.

what are talking about? 1)what made the vietnam war so much different than this war? 2)nobody wants to fight cops...

I just wish you guys would get it through your thick, grimey, jefferson-starshit-listening-to hippy heads that sometimes war is good.

wars against Al-Qaeda? YES. Terrorists? YES. People in Iraq defending their country from invaders? NO. Little children that are going to become orphans after we kill their parents for defending their country? NO. also, albiet im only 19 but what song is/was jefferson starship now for??

if we dont blow the fuck out of saddam, then he'll send some bombs thisaway. why? because he's crazy.

this is a lie, saddam does not HAVE the long range capabilities to hit us... now it is true that he may have given al-qaeda some weapons... but then we should be going after AL-QAEDA shouldnt we??? Also the inspectors still havent found anything yet...

plus, the people that we're gonna bomb would do the exact same thing to you if they had the chance.

i take it you and Saddam are tight (butt)buddies so you know the inner workings of his mind

so kindly shut the fuck up and get back to doing something more useful than pretending to have a serious cause.

sorry for not wanting to kill people OUR(and by OUR i mean the anti-wwar movement) bad

rather than protest and tell everyone you run into to stop the war, which doesnt get anything done except piss people off,

A)i actually enjoy the logical discussion of issues
B)i dont go around telling others my views, unless im at a place where this is accepted/encouraged

why dont you REALLY save some lives and do some community service work at a food drive or something, which i actually did.

i honestly hate people, so helping them goes against my beliefs. I look at everything as how it affects me and which side is better for me...

I do not believe that you can classify everyone who objects to a war a neo-hippie. People from all walks of life are against the idea of war on Iraq. It is rather interesting that you feel that you can define thousands of people with one ignorant statement. It's fine to express your opinions about the war and promote your rally... I applaud you for taking a stand. You should refrain, however, from stereotyping. People will tend to invalidate everything else you have to say.

no, i didnt protest nam, and what made vietnam different was the fact that we had no goddamn business being there in the first place, we just didnt want communism to spread. also, i may have raped saddam in the ass a couple of times for shits and giggles but if i was his friend then why would i advocate bombing him? man, some of you hippies need to learn how to read.

ok you say that now, knowing the outcome, but think back in 1964 when the Gulk of Tonkin incident happened... how would u react then if the president said a US sub was attacked? odds are you would want to attack that nation, at least until you found out that the Prez was lieing.

also, i may have raped saddam in the ass a couple of times for shits and giggles

thats funny in a 'not-really-funny-at-all' kind of way

but if i was his friend then why would i advocate bombing him? man, some of you hippies need to learn how to read.

you missed the point of my witty remark. im refering to how you said that saddam is nuts, but you claim to know how he will react, to which I said how do you know how he will react if he is crazy.

Whoa, censoring others because their beliefs do not fit yours. You would make a good fascist, really you would. I mean your very words disgust me. I don't care if you are pro-war, but telling other people how to think and act is wrong.

YOU ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA TODAY. YOU NARROW MINDED FASCIST. I SINCERLY HOPE YOU DIE SOMETIME SOON.

I have an idea. Why don't we start a rally protesting everyone who doesn't agree with you? I'm sure you'd like that.

I didn't state you could not have your beliefs. I stated my opinion. You see thats the difference between you and I. You want to force your beliefs on others, even silence them. Whereas, most Americans promote freedom, and the free exchange of ideas.

You are pathetic, well no, ignorant fits better.

well i guess that went way over your head then. theres a difference between being a fascist in real life, which i may or may not be (but probably am), and writing stuff on a board with a bunch of super sensitive anti war types to piss them off. however, my moment of fun was turned around on me and i truly learned my lesson. like the grinch, my heart becamse three sizes too big (which requires painful and expensive surgury to fix). reading your posts made me change my opinions on everything and now im a free thinking flower child. before, i was a closed-minded nazi bastard... but thanks to being yelled at by people named denksmoker and marijuanaclock, i've become enlightened. in fact, i may even join the hare krishnas.

i wasnt trying to change your opinion, thats one of the most impossible is change someone's opinion, I just wanted to make sure that I can refute a point... basically I use the board to 'tune' my craft.

If you spent less time trying to hone your arguing skills by arguing for the sake of arguing (and not because you necessarily feel strongly about your point) then maaaaybe you would have a real job, rather than being a 7-11 clerk... but obviously, since you are superior to me, what do i know...

we may not kill innocent people for our own freedom!

think how it would be when you and your whole family live in danger of a terroristic 'government' where you can't say what you want to because you and your family will get tortured to dead. THE IRAQI CITIZENS ARE GETTING SCREWED UP BY SADDAM HUSSEIN 19231 TIMES MORE THEN WE, SILLY FUCKERS, DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!!!

My bad for not having my profile memorized... and by stooping to the pathetic attempts at wit with the 'shit of the dip variety' comment you pretty much tell me that you are out of arguements, and must resort to 5 year old mode.

Personally I dislike killing people for no reason. The Iraqi citizens are going to defend their country because thats what citizens do if it comes down to it.

Here is a scenario: America's military is near non-existant... about 4,000 troops in each state, and China, having armed their entire population are invading. Now, would you let the bigger stronger nation walk over you, while they plan to make life better for you, OR would you find a gun and defend your homeland?

My guess is you're going to defend your country... So why should we assume anything different from the Iraqis???

One can only imagine what it has been like for the Iraqi people the past several months. The threat of war has been looming over them every day. We often see images of pro-government and anti-American militant rallies in Iraq. The fact is, most of the people have the same hopes and fears as any of us... they want to work, raise their families, and spend their lives in peace.
I read the other day that the best selling children's gifts in Baghdad this week were Winnie the Pooh dolls. Why? Because parents did not want to give their children gifts that might remind them of impending war.
Also, Disney is an American company... I find it odd that a Disney character would be so popular if these people truely despise our way of life.

I am neither pro-war or against it. It all depends on the situation. I do not believe that we should attack Iraq at this current state, our economy is failing, we don't have significant proof of nuclear weaponry, and we just don't need to see our own reservists die right now.

In other cases, sure, war should be used to "settle" things. I don't know about Vietnam, but if I lived in the time period, I would sure as hell want to go over there and kick some ass (in a military standpoint, I wouldn't want to do that as a grunt).

Anyway, enough rambling. And thedirtiestjamocan, I don't see why you would stoop low enough to get your "shits and giggles" by pissing off people on a BBS board that are oppose to war.

I do agree with what you said. Although I do consider myself a pacifist, I believe war is sometimes a neccesity. I would be hard-pressed to argue against World War II. It was a situation that clearly required military response. I find it sad that people are trying to draw comparisons between Hitler and Hussein. Let's face it... Saddam's no angel, but he hardly has Hitler's ambition for global conquest. The invasion of Kuwait was over disputes to oil rights... and Kuwait was initially in the wrong.
Iraq stuck its head out, got its nose slapped, and retreated. For over a decade, they have been closely watched with great scrutiny. They really pose no immediate threat to anybody.
