Okay, i'd like to know what your favorite background character is, a character who you regularly see, but don't really know too much about. So no Homer, Apu, Seymoure, ...-ing!
It must be a character who has appeared more than once, and hasn't done more than 1 line/1 dialogue per episode.
Example.... I always tend to burst up laughing when good ol' Gil appears, broke as hell, hence: my favorite background character! :p

I decided to watch the Simpsons movie trailers and they looked ok. I still don't think the movie will be very good, though. However, I'll still see it. While waiting for the movie to come out, I'll be buying The Simpsons season DVDs since sometime soon after enjoying the Futurama DVDs a lot, I now want to get seasons 1 - the latest season DVD released of The Simpsons. :)

We don't believe in rules, like, we gave them up when we started livin' like freaky beatniks!

Any thoughts on the recent episodes? Does everyone think they still suck or have you taken my path in that I find them to be decent, just not as good as the ones of the past?

I just avoid watching the new episodes, unless I happen to not be at home and at somewhere else watching TV. :P I still have only seen two episodes from season 18 (the first episode with Fat Tony's son and the crappy Treehouse of Horror).

I guess the new episodes mostly suck now. The storylines of the majority of the new episodes don't seem to be very interesting now. I guess the only way the episodes can be quite interesting if Homer does any crazy stuff.

Yeah they're OK but not as good as they used to be. I think Futurama has finally overtaken...

Overtaken? how many seisons does it have then? Around here we don't see much Futurama episodes......it's all in periods and stuff, have'nt seen it in over a year or so, i'm gonna complain at the TV company.....fuckers....

I've seen a few newer Simpsons episodes I've not seen before and I found them alright (one of them was when the Simpsons went to Italy).

Only 4 seasons, but the fifth one shall be out next year. :D But I don't think he was talking about the amount of seasons, I think he was talking about the quality of the episodes (Futurama vs new Simpsons).

Around here we don't see much Futurama episodes.

Futurama is on Sky One at the moment, just repeats, but at least it's still played. However, I have seasons 1 - 3 on DVD, so I can watch any Futurama at almost anytime (I will get season 4 soon),

Futurama is coming back to Comedy Central in a few years. Their made problem is getting the same voice actors back.

By the way, I love The Simpsons. I have seen every single episode, and most of them I've seen five to twenty times. Some of the really new ones I haven't seen more than once or twice, because they are really new. For my Bar Mitzvah, Simpsons was my theme. Beat that!

Can I join? I grew up watching the simpsons and now own just short of all their season DVD's soon my collection will be complete.

I grew up watching Simpsons too. I have a faint memory of when I was four or five, and I was watching Sesame Street or another show, and then I noticed it was 5:36 or 5:39 and I'm like, "Ahh, Simpsons is on!" so I changed the channel. Back then, Simpsons was on 5:30 and 6:00 and the news at 6:30. The commercials would say, "Two Simpsons back to back", and it would show two Barts standing back to back, and I thought they were describing like an episode, like where there were two Barts (I was very young), but that episode never came. That's my life story, so, yeah.

I watched a few episodes of Family Guy and Futurama and they are actually funnier than the new Simpsons. They are both more in your face and random. Especially Family Guy. New Simpsons just isn't... entertaining.

I agree, kind of, the newest episode was kind of really bad, although something happened in it that was relative to something that happened in my school so that was cool.

Did anyone enjoy the episode where bart plays the drums until his hand is bitten by one of Lisa's stray animals? I haven't been watching the new episodes because of how poor they are. I forced myself to watch that one so I could get back into the show and I didn't laugh once.
