I'm thinking of starting claymation. Does anyone have any tips on making a good claymation?

Well, you could do something about a fight. That's something everyone loves. Or you could do something about a clay person exploring a human thing like a car, a house, a tree, etc. The more epic, the better. ;)

the first step for claymation is always practice, and if u want a simple model start with a normal clay ball.
is the starwars parody claymation overdone?

That's enough for a claymation. Don't do something big, super epic on your first mation.

Try and make something simple that just tests your abilities at first then move onto something more complex.
