Can I ask what this proves? By all means try to dismiss your opponent's arguments, but trivia about spiders is totally different to stellar physics. Better questions might be
"How do you find acceleration, given a curve representing velocity" (Differentiate it)
"How do you find distance travelled given a curve representing speed against time (Integrate it)
or
"What is escape velocity, and how much fuel would an 80kg human need to reach this, given that the fuel is the oxidisation of hydrogen" (Chemical bonding)

While I have no doubt that you could answer any of these questions, I would suggest that this is the easy end of rocket science.

The questions you asked are physics questions. She knows nothing about physics, she also claimed that all fields of physics were complicated. Probably what she was trying to imply was that they were too complicated for us to grasp, which is false.

The questions I asked are just some common knowledge questions, most people would now the answers to these. From what she said in her arguments I formed a conclusion that she doesn't know much. I mean she did make some ridiculous comments about Stalin's funeral, 18th century fashion, corruption around the world and even WWII (yea allies won because of the british). I can't even remember what she said anymore. She refused to click my links, she claimed stuff she couldn't back up. And she even posted links which had nothing to do with her point, infact they further disproved her.

I'm very sorry to as this of you again, but would you mind making a new topic about this? I always assumed anyone who didn't believe the official moon-landing story was a *ahem* luner-tic, but you usually seem very level headed, so I'm prepared to say there may be more to what you are saying than the straight dismissal I would usually give. I'd be very interested in hearing your arguments, but I feel sort of guilty doing so in a thread about the Bible, which looks about to die anyway.

Well there was a topic about this earlier, and overall, there have been LOTS of topics about this. The old one died, and I don't think everybody will respond kindly when they see that the topic is back. If I make a new topic, it will probably get deleted or spamed with comments like "not this shit again."

If you want you can go back and read the old topic. I think it is called "Did we land on the moon." If you can't find it, tell me and I'll post a link to it. If you find something you don't agree with, tell me and I guess I'll make a new topic about it.

That is what is really going on here.

To be honest, I believe the bible is just a book of morals and tales.
Its meant to teach about ethics more then history, and the reason for some of the most bloodiest events in christian history were resulted from mis-interpretations of the bible. People believed they needed to convert pagans, and to do that they needed to defeat the pagan armies. Then they needed to persecute some pagans so the rest would follow and blah blah.
Its obvious if you look at the stories, they all double meanings or some moral behind it that we all can learn from. And if you look at the history of the bible you can see that it makes more sense.
The bible was made in a time of lawlessness, corruption, murder, betrayal. Christianity offered not only an answer to life, but also a system of rules and moral ethics.

Be kind to thy neighbor, honor thy mother and thy father, dont steal, dont murder. All of these were used to try and teach the poor and uncivilised how to act. How to better themselves. The stories in the bible were used as examples.

In the story of the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve get kicked out for lying to god and disobeying him, they were punished for breaking a rule they swore to follow.
In the story of Moses, a 400 year old man built a huge ark simply because god told him to. He believed in himself he could do it because he knew he could (also with the story of David and Goliath).
The story of Samson, the long blue haired warrior who was unvincible because his hair connected him and god. But when he let himself get tempted by a women because of her beauty she cut off his hair and made him weak.
Even the story of going to hell and heaven symbolises the ultamite ethic.

Do good, and you get rewarded. Do bad, and you get punished.

I am an atheist. I follow morality and ethics because it is the RIGHT thing to do. I don't need to be told to do so. If people are good human beings, that shouldn't need to be made to act morally because they fear something terrible happening in the afterlife.
