Tell me what you think: Should rich countries cancel the debt of third world countries? (particularly sub-sharan African nations.)
Give reasons as to why or why not.

In my opinion, they should..it would help a lot.
But I doubt they will do it (Countries need cash, still).

Not really a question fo "should we." It's a question of "how could we?" It's complicated stuff.

I don't think we should cancel debts because that is giving them the impression they can get free rides on more developed countries, plus quite a few of the richer countries have debts of their own they need to worry about on top of that.

I would! If a person from the third world owed me $10,000 I would cancel the debt.
But I think cancelling the debt isn't enough. We need to teach them how to earn money, improve the education system and solve the HIV/AIDS crisis. Then they'll have hope for a bright future.
Sadly, and I don't mean to be racist. It is a natural tendency for black people to mess things up in politics - corruption.
Just like it is typical of the white people to pollute the environment and not see pass their nose when it comes to religion and culture.

Africa is too far gone for debt cancellation to make a significant improvement to the general quality of living. The rich and in power would get richer the poor would remain just as poor. I really cant think of a proper solution to solving the problems in Africa.

I know how to solve the problem in Africa!
1. They STOP BREEDING!
2. They become dependent of a bigger nation
3. They get international assistance to kick out corruption!
