I am doing this series called REBOOT, it's on NG and it's doing pretty well actually. But I want to know what people think of it all linked together. The above link has all 5 segments linked together, it's about 20 min long(!)

If anyone could watch it through and tell me what you think, it'd be really awesome :-D

Eh, I hate the whole pixelated 1984 video game look. I would have actually watched it all if it was a more modern style but the 5 minutes I saw were pretty boring.

Well you people who don't watch the whole thing...you're just stupid. It turns into a big action scene....BUTTTT you wouldn't know that because you're idiots and don't understand what "pace" is. When you "pace" something, you don't have everything happen in the course of 2 minutes.

I mean, you're saying "it's so boring I stopped watching after 2 min", you sound like idiots that can't concentrate. Get a clue.

The story is paced as if it were a film, so not everything happens at once, this is a series.

Good movie do infact have pacing but first they throw something out there at the beggining to draw your attention, show you what kind of movie its going to be. What kind of movie is your opening telling me this is going to be? A movie about some fuckin pixelated snakes, flowers and little boys? You have no fucking idea what you are talking about. You dont start pacing untill you give the viewer something that could draw them in.

ok dude here's the deal. the majority of the ppl are trying to tell you that it's too slow and not quite entertaining. thus it doesnt have a good PACE. i agree. i watched it for about 8 minutes and i never understood what was happening so the plot wasnt going anywhere either. you cant blame someone for not sticking thru the whole thing. i'd be pissed too if i made a damn 20 min. video and it sucked but i wouldnt whine about it. so plz just take the critisizm as it is (which everyone agrees) and improve instead of implode.

quite easily. Do you think the people in the portal are going to stop there lives for 20 minutes to watch this? No, you don't draw them in at the start, infact, i stopped after 30 seconds. People have things to do other than sit and watch this.
If somethings boring, and within your power to stop it, you stop it! you don't keep sitting waiting for something big to happen.
That's what we're trying to tell you. You need action from the word go. and don't try to 'pace' it out. It's a flash movie, not a real one.

..... crappy "intro" credits, whatever.... you know why people buy DVD's of TV series? To skip the crappy intro. Thank you for only doing the "plong" version once.

Highly disjointed scene jumping

pace - horrible pace..... the only reaosn I watched the entire thing is because someone on a message board complained that no one would despite having a supposed "good" pace. Really, if you were going for a piece to captivate your audience you need to either speed it up quite a bit, add some teasers and forshadowing, or both. You have 30 seconds max to honestly grab attention.

Who knows, maybe coffee house beatniks would see a larger "depth" in it and such and enjoy the long drawn out bit.

Which brings me to technique. Drawing seemed decent when you wanted to be. You used a lot of tricks, transitions, motion and alpha mixes for pixel smoke. Overall I wil give you credit for trying to use some tricks to give this style some depth. However, that does not mean the animation should be a 20 minute wank job over these neat tricks.

tetris blocks...... same footage used twice along with REBOOT episode intro, seemed to be an accidental loop... over and over.

The damn thing loops from the black guy on the roof to the Tetris block group Splat over and over. YOUR FILE IS BROKEN = Waste of time./ Not watching it again but you need to fix it.

sorry for the double post but do you know how freaking long this is taking to load?
it needs to be broken up so i can load them at the same time and watch them all when theyre done it would take a fifth of the time for it to load like that...but a stream button would be good too...

Ok I had to stop, the begining was sorta sloppy and all and the pixel graphics don't look good. You talk about pace but what movies do to have an ending action sequence is have minor thrills here and there to keep the watcher watching, what I saw was a lack of complex animation of movements just some spnning and a hell lot of looping stuff and it was quite boring even for an action sequence at the end u fail because you didn't think of keeping the viewer interested, u also should not call people dumb asses after you state "Rawr ur idiots big action at end keep watching" you basically looped a bunch of crap for I dunno how long in order to make it this lenght and the begining was not good period, it lost me at the begining and became a chore to watch so much so that I just stopped watching it and here I am. Sry dude you lost miserably here.

I'm just setting up the story to begin. Sure, some of the stuff is abstract, or a little slow, but that's to set a mood. There's a story, I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

It's also a lot different seeing a big long viewing of something, compared to seperate episodes at different times.

When this series is done, it'll be like an anime >:o a good one.

the reason for that as he stated in his first post is that they are seperate movies so they need to load thats all.
