Gallic Wars - Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian.

Hundred Years War - Mostly lost, saved at last by female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare: "France's armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman."

Italian Wars - Lost. France becomes the first and only country to ever lose two wars when fighting Italians. Wars of Religion - France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots

Thirty Years War - France is technically not a participant, but manages to get invaded anyway. Claims a tie on the basis that eventually the other participants started ignoring her.

War of Devolution - Tied. Frenchmen take to wearing red flowerpots as chapeaux.

The Dutch War - Tied

War of the Augsburg League/King William's War/French and Indian War Lost, but claimed as a tie. Three ties in a row induces deluded Frogophiles the world over to label the period as the height of French military power.

War of the Spanish Succession - Lost. The War also gave the French their first taste of a Marlborough, which they have loved every since.

American Revolution - In a move that will become quite familiar to future Americans, France claims a win even though the English colonists saw far more action. This is later known as "de Gaulle Syndrome", and leads to the Second Rule of French Warfare: "France only wins when America does most of the fighting."

French Revolution - Won, primarily due the fact that the opponent was also French.

The Napoleonic Wars - Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer.

The Franco-Prussian War - Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunk Frat boy to France's ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night.

World War I - Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States. Thousands of French women find out what it's like to not only sleep with a winner, but one who doesn't call her "Fraulein." Sadly, widespread use of condoms by American forces forestalls any improvement in the French bloodline.

World War II - Lost. Conquered French liberated by the United States and Britain just as they finish learning the Horst Wessel Song.

War in Indochina - Lost. French forces plead sickness, take to bed with the Dien Bien Flu.

Algerian Rebellion - Lost. Loss marks the first defeat of a western army by a Non-Turkic Muslim force since the Crusades, and produces the First Rule of Muslim Warfare: "We can always beat the French." This rule is identical to the First Rules of the Italians, Russians, Germans, English, Dutch, Spanish, Vietnamese and Esquimaux.

War on Terrorism - France, keeping in mind its recent history, surrenders to Germans and Muslims just to be safe. Attempts to surrender to Vietnamese ambassador fail after he takes refuge in a McDonald's.

The question for any country silly enough to count on the French should not be "Can we count on the French?", but rather "How long until France collapses?"

Perhaps I did not read your entire post because of my zealous hatred of the French...what about "Cinco de Mayo"? Many Mexicans here in Texas celebrate their independence from France on this day. Or so I was told...

Maybe that is not even a war?

They did have Napoleon for a while, a halfway decent "conqeror"...but he was still short.

HA!

The French can teach the Iraqis how to surrender to the United States (and Coalition). They have plenty of experience.

You are wrong, they have tested them there some years ago, but they don't do that anymore.

Thank you for using the proper title towards me: "Your Holiness."

For Alakazam so loved the world, he gave the world His reason.

Do you WANT Iraq to win this war?

That's not actually true, by the time America joined the war Germany was on its last legs and would have lost, America just sped it up.

Sadly, widespread use of condoms by American forces forestalls any improvement in the French bloodline.

Horribly racist.

The question for any country silly enough to count on the French should not be "Can we count on the French?", but rather "How long until France collapses?"

The military power of a country does not equate to social and political stability. All of your examples only go to show that France will continue and will not collapse, however many times it is conquered.

Many Mexicans here in Texas celebrate their independence from France on this day.

I would guess it is probably from Spain instead of France, due to the lack of French in Latin America.

They were fighting with one of the best generals of the world, Cayo julio Cesar

War of the Spanish Succession - Lost. The War also gave the French their first taste of a Marlborough, which they have loved every since.

Well, actually they won it, because our king is still a Borbon, a french bloodline.

The Napoleonic Wars - Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer.

And we kick off Napoleon's ass at several places as our guerrilla warfare is unbeatable(we are only good at it) . i think that the date mentioned early was 2 of march, when the people of Madrid revolted.

The Franco-Prussian War - Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunk Frat boy to France's ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night.

Bismarck, after all, had this one very cooked up

Algerian Rebellion - Lost. We can.

If you want a Spanish to go war, give him some wine and "jamon"

Of course not. Why do you think I said Iraqis surrendering to the US?
France is not part of the Coalition. France's military is inferior to the United States' military. They don't want war- they would lose a lot of money.

What way to glaze over the fact that Europe practically begged America to form an army "under her own flag."

Actually it was Spain, but the battle was against a crappy French Army. Even the Mexicans whoop up the French.

I, for one, would like to commend the French people for their efforts in their wars. They were surely the people who fought most poorly, and surrendered most readily.
Truly they are an inspiration to wimps everywhere.
(Not to call francophones wimps)

America would have been a great asset earlier on, there is no dout about that, but Europe was locked in a war of attrtion at the time and the British blockade was starving the Germans(the German blockade on Britain was not quite as effective.) Germany was slowly being worn down, when America joined the war, due to the intensive u-boat campaign, it sped up, not saved the victory.

If America would have been a great asset earlier on, why didn't they help earlier?
Can you give me an answer to that?
I can! They won't help until they can get a profit out of it! Damn egoism!

OH and cuz then al qaeda will start blowing shit up here... but hey saddam will be out of power right.

Due to the ethnic make-up of the USA. It would cause riots. I could give you a longer answer, like things about the monroe doctrine and the such but I'm on the NG chatroom at the moment having a nie little debate.
