To enable cookies:

Preferences>Security

Then where it says 'Accept Cookies', select 'Always'.

I'm not entirely sure, but it may slow down your computer by saving a lot of cookies. You can compensate by cleaning them out periodically-say, once every couple of months.

This is where my expertise ends, being a Windows user.

That's perfectly right though. But he can change it to accept Newsground's cookies only. Should be somewhere in the settings as well. Haven't used a mac for an eternity, so I do not know where he can find that.

Being a mac user, unless he has to, he should set his cookies settings to "only from sites you navigate to" to avoid any kind of clutter from other sites and ad banner cookies.

And safari has a great features to easily clear out cache and cookie stuff by going to Safari > Reset Safari

This will really help clear out any problems to help the browser run faster if it starts to slow down.

Did you try reading the thread to see how the problem was fixed? Also sometimes you may be logged on to the site, but it doesn't show up on the header.

Help!!

Go to tools/options/privacy and clear the cookies completely. Then try logging back in and see if that works.
