Are there any fellow Libertarians in here? I can't seem to find anybody in my school who shares the same beliefs as I do.

Nice to meet you.
I know of some famous libertarians too, but they’re British TV stars so you wouldn’t know of them.
There’s Moral as well, although I haven’t seen him on here in a while.

I consider myself a libertarian, but I'm pragmatic as far as politicians go.

Libertarians kick ass. I'm not one, but I always enjoy meeting them.
I always confuse them for repulbicans at first, but then they surprise me with concerns they have common among a lot of left-wingers.
Libertarians are like Liberals, But you know, with balls.
I must lollerskate on this matter.

You fool he's been here under a new name for months. Now it's up to you to figure out who he is and save the crab nebula.

I thought libertarians were socially liberal, but heavily for capitalism.

Can somebody explain to me what, exactly, a liberterian is.
My favorite comedian, Bill Maher, is one.
But what is one?

A libertarian is someone who is for high freedoms politically, economically, and on civil issues. For instance: A libertarian might not neccassarily agree with abortion or gay marriage, but they do not feel tha they need to impose their beliefs on someone else, and they also believe almost everything should be privatized.

If Im thinking of the guy on HBO that guy, he is not a Libertarian, he is a fucking psycho Democrat who BEGGED Nader with Michael Moore not to run so Kerry would get more votes.
Not exactly the mindset of someone who supports third parties.
If he sayes he is a Libertarian, he is full of shit and just trying to appeal to more viewers, sort of how most reporters, even though they may be raving liberal or conservative, would be registered Independents or something.

My beliefs are probably more rooted in libertarianism than in liberalism methinks. I find myself disagreeing with traditional "liberals" quite often and I'd certainly vote for a libertarian before a conservative or a moderate.
I think it's moreso the foundation of all my political beliefs being found in freedom. I love freedom. I lean more towards being a liberal/socialist, though, because I do not believe in the inherent rights and liberties of huge corporations. Corporations don't have rights that transcend those of the people, and thus I am in favour of government "restriction" of some economic matters (moreso I'd just prefer that corporations kept their money out of politics and that the government upheld its own anti-trust laws).
So while I'm not a poster-boy of a Libertarian Party, one could classify me as one. But I prefer not to use such labels.

I take his word for it. From what I've read he dislikes republicans and democrats alike, and basically hates what american liberals stand for. I could be wrong in my observation, but you should ask him.

He's the only entertainer who leaps to mind.
There's probably a better example, but I can't think of one.
I registered as a Liberterian back in 2004, and voted for Michael Badnarik, the Liberterian Presidential Cantidate.
He wound up getting a paltry 400,000 votes.
Still, I would vote Liberterian again.

Yeah, he did worse than Nader who wasn't even running for a party (I was proud that I convinced 3 people to vote for Nader in '04 ^_^).
Somewhat ironically, I have a horrible, burned-in preconception (from my friend's older brother) of Libertarian Party members as being loud, over-zealous, aggressive people. I suppose libertarians that I've met online haven't really helped that stereotype, either...

Bill Hicks always came across as one to me.
If not, then he’d fall into the category of ‘liberal with balls’.

I disagree.
Of course, I could be heinously bias.
To me, it always appears that liberals and conservatives are a lot louder to voicing their opinions, and a lot more zealous in putting them forward.
Seeing as a fundamental philosophy for many libertarians is a ‘live and let live’ one.

I didn't say the stereotype was correct, naturally. That's just what I think of when I think of a libertarian. Kinda turns ya off of voting for them I think...

Oh, I’d never vote for a libertarian politician.
I believe libertarianism is a political philosophy, one that left and right wingers can subscribe to, but not something to base your entire political beliefs on.

Drew Carey is one. My Physics teacher in High School was a libertarian and had a magazine they send out and Drew Carey was in there. So hes a Libertarian.
But then again, hes Drew Carey.
I really dont like Bill Maher. Hes to much of a hack to me. And everytime I watch his show hes sitting there making some smart assed comment about Republicans in general (I definately lean that way more but I am not one and maybe its the conservative in me getting defensive) and surroungint himself with a bunch of yes men liberals and maybe one conservative to rag on the entire time.
Hes to much of an egotist for me. And I hate the way he smirks all the time. You can tell he thinks he is the smartest guy on the show all the time and he thinks he knows everything. Yeah, I really dont like him.
Liberal comics that are excellent, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Lewis Black (guys friggin hilarious) generally all those guys on Comedy Central. Why? They are humble, to an extent. I dont think they are as egotistical. They seem like real people.
Its just that goddamned smirk and lazy sort of egoism Maher exudes that just pisses the hell out of me.
