It seems fitting in such times of warmongering to ask if perhaps some people are just inherently evil. I think that some of the seriously twisted people are evil from birth due to chemical imbalances in their brain like with the thrill-seeker people who have to have lots of fright and excitement to be satisfied. As for everyone else, I think the egregious acts they perform are done out of personal or economic reasons.

The question: are people inherently evil or does everyone have the capacity to be evil and some choose to live a lifestyle of that nature?

What an interesting question.

Right now I'm studying antisocial personality disorder, and I don't know if this answers your question but I think it definately adds something useful.

It has been found that Sociopaths exhibit a total and complete lack of not only emotions but morality, remorse, or compassion.

For those of you who are unfamilar, the most famous sociopaths include Charles Manson, Ed Gein, John Wayne Gacy, and other people Marilyn Manson band members have named themselves after. ;)

Now, whether these people are evil or not I couldn't say, but it has been theorized that this disorder is the product of either/both genetics and parenting.

no one is bornt evil in this world.

However, most ppl's decision and philosophy are altered due to the environment (societies) they are living with.
ex:- Stalin, Lenin, Leon, Hitler, Mao Ze Tong. read their biography.

if not, there are also other factors.

peer pressure,
advantages, privileges, comfortness and leisure,
have to change because they want to escape from crisis,
family members and tradition,
racial heritage and culture,
fear (losing power, money, fame, and identity)

Yes, there are factors from their genes too. (read from a book, but i'm not quite sure now) some of the serial killers have double or triple X chromosomes which results in the brain unable to secretes chemicals that can either depress the mood or stimulates the moods of a person's mind, something like that. hence, results in an uncontrollable outburst of anger. hence, these ppl have to take pills.
