I Firmly belive that the Sega Genesis was by far the best console gaming system EVER. With such games as Sonic, Earthworm Jim, Streets of Rage, and Battle Toads, it simply puts all other Nintendo systems to shame. PERIOD. Who agrees?

Welp, I liked both the SNES and the Genesis. I bought SEGA Genesis first, but then saw all those "cool, rad" commercials for the SNES, so I got it the next Christmas around. I'd have to say I played them both equally, I get warm fuzzy feelings thinking about when I was 6-7 years old, in front of our old TV, popping in cartidges to play 'Bubsy' (don't laugh!) on Genesis, or Megaman X4 on SNES...

Ahh, how I wish console gaming was like that now-a-days...

Battletoads originated on the NES. Earthworm Jim was a (overrated) multiplatform game.

However, Sonic and Streets of Rage were and still are classics.

In terms of revolutionising the games industry, the 16-bit consoles didn't really do much that hadn't been done before, they just did it better.

It was the birth of the playstation and saturn that really did that. Again, the ps2, gamecube and XBOX aren't as revolutionary. They just do what the 32 bits did, only better.

With the lack of a fourth dimensions with which to revolutionise the industry yet again, I feel all improvements now will merely add polish to what has come before. (No "Time is the fourth dimension" comments please).

I owned both an SNES and genesis... I remember reading reviews before X-mas which said genesis was better, so I asked for a genesis... I got it, and then realized SNES was better... Went to work shoveling driveways all winter to earn enough to buy that great system. No offence to genesis, it was good too, but SNES's games were more fun in my opinion, and we all know they had the best graphics for the time too.

communist its one of the best not the best though..i downloaded 263 games (roms) for my genesis emulator heh
