best way to record

hey all i want to start to record stuff that sounds professional or close to it. I have a few practice amps 2 mics, drumset. guitar and a bass with distortion. What is the way to record. What do i do after i record the instrument and finally wat programs and any other info i should know.

I hate to sound like a cunt and all, but you're not going to get anywhere close to professional results with a practice amp and a couple of mics. Unless your definition of professional is early Anal Cunt.

your best bet would be to plug directly into your soundcard as much as possible. As for drums, check out these links:

You may want to invest in an external soundcard. I've got one that has midi, mic, guitar and aux input, from TASCAM. Bought it second hand for around 75 dollars. Try your luck on E-bay, or in a second hand store.

spend the money to build a studio and have it set up by the guitar center pro shop. other than that you'll never sound pro, nobody ever will.

The best software is acid express our band has it we can record individualy and it is pretty easy to use

Yeah, most people who are pro band types just rent out studio time instead....

Well, yeah, that, and you don't neccesarily need top gear and a bunch of guys coming over to tune your studio, to sound professional :)
