Well, not a full blown tour, but a mini tour like they did last year. They will do two shows in Mexico on the 17th and 18th (Circo Volador), then they will swing up to North America.

June 20th ------- Chicago, Logan's Square Auditorium.
June 22nd ------ New York, The Knitting Factory (I'm going to this one! 8)
June 24th ------- Seattle, The Crocodile Café
June 25 or 26 -- San Francisco or Los Angeles (dates and venues to be confirmed)
June 26 or 27 -- ^

Venue links:

Knitting Factory, NY
The Crocodile Café, Seattle (Scroll down, side bar on right)
Logan's Square Auditorium, Chicago (It's there, they just haven't updated the website yet. I'm guessing other acts are to be finalized.)

Although it's disappointing they are only going to be here for a week this time, it's good to know that they know they have many fans in the U.S.A..

If you don't know who they are by now, they are a Japanese rock band most known for the three albums they contributed to the soundtrack of the anime OVA, FLCL. Of course, they have recorded 13 full length albums, as well as a two disc b-side compilation, a remastered album of their favorite old material, plus all the singles, bonus material and concert DVDs. They have been together since 1989.

Needless to say, I am extremely excited to see them live. If you have the opportunity to go to any of these shows, do not hesitate.

I live 2 1/2 hours away from Chicago... but I'm going to Sage Francis and P.O.S. like 2 days after that. It matters how much tickets are.

The show I'm going to was $15 per person, so I'd say it's in the 10-20 dollar price range for Chicago as well. All shows are All Ages as well. When I get more info about the California shows, I'll post. When the Chicago venue website updates, I'll post as well.

Of course, gas money will be the main money sucker here. (I must buy concert tees and stuff as well!)

I wish I had a good answer. There could be many reason why they couldn't. They aren't exactly young anymore, they've rarely had any exposure other than FLCL in America, Venue's may be skeptical of booking a foreign band, etc. It's tough to say exactly. Maybe they have a bigger tour planned next year, or maybe they will tour America once they produce another record. They have expressed desire to play more U.S.A. shows, I guess it's just a timing issue.

Awesome, I'd say you can definately get tickets. Get right on it!

Oh, and a great fansite for the pillows is http://www.pirouzu.net/ They have links to buy albums, tons of pictures, tabs, and lyric translations. They also have a forum. (where I got most of this information, thanks IM!)

BDMonster posted this once he heard about the shows in Mexico. rofl!

Information on the Chicago show. Tickets will go on sale later this week, so check back there periodically.

Once I have new info on LA and SF shows, I'll let you know.

Official Myspace. Listen to The third eye and MY FOOT, if you haven't already. A few other of my favorites from the new album would be Mighty Lovers, March of the God, Gazelle City and Sayonara Universe, as well as Heart is There (from the Non Fiction single).

It appears that the NY show (Knitting Factory) has sold out, ticketweb says tickets are unavailable. The other shows still have tickets available.

Bands opening for the pillows are:

Chicago --- Noise Pollution, I Need Sleep
New York --- none
Seattle --- The Stereo Future
Los Angeles --- Broadcaster, freeway people
San Francisco --- The Stereo Future, Secret Secret

Horray, it's only a couple weeks away now!

Opening acts for SF show have changed, these are the updated opening acts.

B.E.N.O.M. / Secret Secret / Lemon Drop Kick

Overall, I gave it a good try. I kinda wish a few more people would've kept this thread alive longer so more people could see, but alas, it was not to be, as the opportunity presented here was buried under waves of "DS vs. PSP" topics and the like. Ah, well.

Regardless, I'm ecstatic. They rocked Mexico City. Today, they will own Chicago. Then it's on to New York City. HELL YEAH!!!
