WHo ever thought this one up couldn't face the facts that there really is no heaven or hell. Mankind created it and started to believe in it, even though its all one big lie.

from my point of view i agree. but that's just me, i wouldnt want to disprove of anyone're religion. what i believe (among millions of others) is that you are created on a different plane. you can stay there as long as you like. you then choose to manifest a physical form on this plane. then you are born. you can go back to the "astral plane" when you're alive in your sleep or consciously. it takes a while to be focused enough to get there. that is the plane where "ghosts" live in their spirit form, and since all planes overlap in some way, you sometimes see them.

I don't know about life after death but on the other hand I have a hard thinking that when we die that's it, I guess it comes down to whether or not you believe in a soul or anything similar, because it's a scientific fact that energy cannot be destroyed so if there is spiritual energy in a person then it continues in some form after death.

I agree for the most part. Anyone who says that "life after death" exists is full of BS. They expect people to take their word for it on faith and present no viable theory to support it.
BAH...weakminds.
But Life After Death was a good album.

I'm not sure what I believe in this case...since energy can't be destroyed, if there is such a thing as a soul, then we have to go on in some way, shape or form. But that's probably just my cowardice talking.

I believe in “death after life”. At least this one I can prove. I tend to live my life like there is no afterlife. This way, if I am about to die then I can say that I lived life on my terms and I feel fulfilled. I hope that this will quell my fear of death that is inherent in those about to die. If there is an afterlife (I doubt there is, but that’s just me) then I will be pleasantly surprised......... I hope............

I don't know what to think about people who beleive in life after death.
They search for an explanation for life and stuff. That's quite normal. Little kids do that too, and that's how I stories about God and other goddesses came to be.
I'm not telling you to beleive, because I don't beleive in such a thing either. I'm asking you to understand the people who beleive.

if there is no life after death, how can we bere here at all? you cant be something from nothing. and when we die, what do you think happens? no you dont see black, and it is unlikely that you dont see anything. think of it this way: if there is no life after death, tell me how the hell you don't exist at all.

If there is life after death then explain what it has to do with the existence of life. Even if someting "created" us there is no guarantee that life exists after death.

i agree its a waste of time. if we devoted the money that went to the church to finding a cure for cancer there would be alot of people alive today that would be dead otherwise.

Bah! There's no way to really PROVE it either way, since the only people who know the answer, or don't know the answer, because they no longer have any sort of conciousness, are dead. Some people have faith, though, and hell, what's wrong with that?

r u talking about reincarnation? No such thing. if there's such a thing, why the population in this world keeps on increasing to 6 billion despite some families in countries either from the East or West have only 2 to 3 children.

Can you prove that?
Ok, I can't prove that there ís either, but I always keep options open until the contrary is proved.
And doesn't not beleiving in afterlife make life senseless?
You have to live towards something, and that something is afterlife, aside whether it exists or not.

The entire belief of life after death is based on the assumption we exist. Can you give me any proof that you exist? You all might as well be a product of my imagination. This topic is all about assumptions, you cannot and should not tell someone he is "just as informed as religious zealots". You can't be informed in any way about this, since it can't possibly be proven, and the reason we DO belive in life after death is because we can't understand or imagine nothingness, non-existance.

hell if i know.
All i know is that humans have a mind. I don't know if that counts as a soul. Human minds are very crappy because if something messes with it the mind will change it's ways. It's scary to see a person that can be nice at one moment, but physco another. Like i said before, i don't know if the mind is a soul that will go to heaven or hell.
What would happen if a person was really bad and would go to hell if he died got into an accident and changed into a good person that could go into heaven? I kind of wanna hear where that person's soul will end up.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/02/11/cosmic.portrait/index.html
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Our universe is about 13.7 billion years old, flat, composed almost entirely of matter and energy that scientists still don't completely understand -- and will continue to expand forever, according to a new "baby picture" of the early universe captured by a NASA satellite.
Since i now know the universe is forever and will never collapse back in on istelf because of dark matter i would have to believe in alternate lives.
you die and you move onto the next plain of existence or demension.
anyone who doesnt believe in the next life really shouldnt be wasting their time on message boards watching flash movies.

But what does the age of the universe have to do with life after death, and wether it exists or not? I don't actually get your point (but that could also be my own fault, I don't know).

Religon and life after death were created in order to make death less scary. Facts are facts you die thats it no more. Its a scary thought but the most realistic one. The sooner you come to terms with it the less scary it will be.. well maybe not :P
