Yes, it is fairly simple. If you just look at it for a bit and mess around with it you should figure it out. Basically, just click record when you want to record, stop when you want to stop, and play to playback what you just recorded. Look around at the options it gives you under the tabs next to File and play around with them. You should get the hang of it eventually.
