False Identity? (I need opinions)

The composer Don Davis (composed the Matrix trilogy soundtrack, among others), or someone pretending to be him, has joined the AP. I was wondering what people thought concerning authenticity.

Here's what I've noticed:
-Tell the Truth is definitely recognizable as a track from the Matrix, yet in a review response, he claims it was intended for flash (why would a well-reknowned film composer be composing for flash all of a sudden?).
-In A Foothold Spirit, he says that the oboe talent was himself. One, his website states that he only ever learned piano and trumpet. Two, the notes played on the "oboe" are actually not within the range of an oboe.
-...a famous film composer, here?

I say it's a load of bull and that it's extremely idiotic of this fellow to think about passing himself off as Don Davis. Opinions?

Actually, I kind of believe it. According to FDA (on the front page), he says,” Since The Matrix was released, a large number of the uploads on NG have included music from the film. "

I'm still not completely sure...

I dont think it sounds that impossible at all. It´s not impossible that he realised that so many people actually likes and uses his music here on NG, that this might be the perfect place for some kind of loomy marketing. I really hope that it is, it would be really cool if a seasoned artist like him put out some b-sides(?) on NG for the crowd to use!
However, its very expensive to make these kinds of production, so... well perhaps not... I seriously doubt that a most likley busy man would actually put his labour out here, not getting payed, but well... difficult to tell... However, the e-mail adress put out would make me tink that it´s not, since he´d be sure to get 123213123 e-mails. But on the other hand, maybe he think it´s fun for a while.

His music is sold on soundtrack CD's. What would encourage him to bypass that and offer his music for free?

Its fake. If his music is released on CDs that means he has a contract, no record label in their right mind would let him release stuff without them collecting off of it.

guys come on, how can anybody even consider this real. Thats like saying John Williams made Imperial March song for Newgrounds 20 years before it was created, cuz he's psychic like that. It's not going to happen, and above all that, why would any seasoned composer upload here, there are many places far better, where he would recieve much better feedback and without the downrating problem.

I'd just keep an eye on this one, he may very well likely try to upload copywrited material saying "it's his song, he can do what he wants to with it, despite record deals."

Well, to find out I´ve notified Wade about it, because;
If it´s thre real deal, then it´d be awsome publicity for Newgrounds.com indeed, and hopefully the AP gets more reckognition!

If it´s all fake, then this guy is submitting copyrighted material and should be taking the consequences for that.

However, I really hope it´s the real deal. It aint impossible that Davis put some B-sides or something here, he might have caught attention for the site since so many flashes here includes his music indeed. FDA mentions Juno Reactor, one of the composors for some of the Matrix soundtrack, like Tekcos mentioned, but on the other hand we´ve had stolen music on this site a couple of times before, yeah?... :/

Here's my strongest reason behind believing he's fake:

He claims to be the "oboe" talent in his jazz piece.

1) Nowhere on his website does it claim that he ever learned oboe.
2) The "oboe" goes about a minor third below the Bb beneath middle C in that piece. I confirmed with my oboeist friend that the oboe cannot go below the Bb beneath middle C.
(as WinterWind suggested in an interview, the instrument is most likely an english horn)

Judging by the amount of inconsistency...well, decide for yourself. It should be clear enough how fake he is.

Exacly, and so am I and so is every other kid that claims it cuz we have no way of knowing. I say lets forget about it and he can stay anonymous like the rest of us. Isn't that what's so great about this site, millions of viewers and we can say anything we want without concequence. Like anarchy.
