i'm with you. I'm american born, and am nearly fluent in spanish and am fluent in english. But I am half french, and Half canadian by heritage. I used to never get insulted about these things, mostly because people didn't know, and because the tension between the US and mexico wasn't as great. Now that people have found out that I am french/canadian and am completely open to spanish culture, I get told to 'retreat back over the border with my crappy army' and stuff like that alot. Its mainly just jokes, but I find it odd that everyone that finds out that I am french/canadian suddenly seems to have a different perspective on me.

So, that's why I agree with you. NGers, try to have a more open mind than the common man does.

I live in merry old england and where i come from we're kinda brought up hating the french. All the war fare past few centuarys and our countries just plainly hate each other, and once there was a 100 year war with the french but they obviously didn't call it the 100 year war while it was going on lol.

I learn french in my school and i can say about 5 words (Yes i'm so clever)

I live in england as well but i think they are great people, one of my favorite sayings is "don't dwell in the past", just because the english have had past conflicts with the french, doesn't mean that we should still hate them! there was once an extreme hatred between england and scotland but i'm proof that the countries only regain the hatred in football (if there was no peace between the english and the scottish, i wouldn't have been born, i'm 5/8 scottish)

About France? I dont like France or the French. Ive known a couple french people in my life- and well...they were all rude and arrogant. Gave me an impression from when i was little that the french werent very nice. Plus when i went to France - it was just...eh...lol. I dont know- i have no racial hate against the french - and i am sure there are MANY MANY great french people out there. Just from my youngin years the french people i met were right dicks. Don't like (not as strong as it sounds) the country or the people- too much like England i guess.

I dont know...i don't see a frenchmen and be like OMG I HAIT YOU - or go around saying FRENCH SUXS ... and i have a few french friends and i have no problems with them... Eh lol- its nothing personal against the french! I just blame it on my childhood.

I've been to England around 10-15 times.I've been to Manchester,Liverpool,Blackpool,Bristol and London.Everytime I go all I see are loud,ignorance and obnoxious people who think they are the greatest nation on earth.

Even abroad the English make a show of themselves.They start fights and generally are just a pain in the arse to the locals and to their fellow tourists.

Just look at Football even.France 98',Euro 2000,World cup 02' Who started the riots and violence? The English.They're arrogance is fucking colossal.
