I'd drink you into the poor house if you were buying for me. It gets annoying being this huge when you have to spend so much just to get drunk. I'm 6'5" and 315lbs; I can drink a twelve pack in an hour and only get buzzed : (

Now for the metal. I went to a fucking awesome show last week. Local Raw Black/Death metal legends Descention threw a huge party for the release of their new album Goat War Incantations. They were fucking amazing. If you can find anything by them I recommend getting it.

I've got a half empty gallon jug of 110 proof rum, a handle of gin, a handle of scotch, a fifth of vodka, a fifth of brandy, a half-fifth of sambuca, and a gallon jug of tequila.

I will certainly do that after I get Anti-Human Black Metal by Lugubre.

i don't really follow music news at all really, i just know things if i am told or stumble across them.

i have a cd wallet that holds 296 cds, but i rarely use it except for storage and my album art collection, because i have my hard drive on my computer and will soon get a high end mp3 player(i bought one, but it was fucked up so i got a refund and wasted the money on other shit. like music.)

In Asgarður's Fimbulwinter, expect organs. Like, Cathedral sized organs. And lots of them. I've been getting into organ music lately, like Toccatta and Fugue in D Minor (By Bach) which is that dracula sounding song. Plus, because of that, I might also cover more Manowar songs like Heart of Steel or Crown and the Ring.

One lyric that made me make up my mind about the CD in a heartbeat:

"Shut the hell up you fucking twat"

Any time a metal band names their song after a Black Eyed Peas song, let alone a former bm band, it automatically sucks.

Seriously, though, I can't hear the word Twat without laughing. It's a funny word. Darkthrone should change their name now. They're neither dark, nor are they on any throne.

LightCouch?
StupidityVortex?

Or how about no one buys thier stuff, and they'll change it themselves into something most emo, and latch on to whatever mallcore trend is going on now...

I don't buy their stuff. I find that even when they were respectable members of the True Norwegian Black Metal scene in the early 90's, they were still overrated

Though I think they should change their name to twatwaffles.

Lmao Ghoul that's the second time you've posted that liquor post and the second time you've forgotten the damn pic.

As for Darkthrone, I say just let them have their fun. Everyone in the metal world seems to freak out if any band tries to have fun (take CoB's Britney Spears cover, which seemed to make people hate them even more...even though it was just a joke). The Cult Is Alive is only a semi-serious album, which you can definitly see in the lyrics. But have you guys gone to the press portion of Darkthrone's site? It's hilarious,

"The Album - "The Cult Is Alive"

the Darkthrone dissidents deliver their 12 album brimming with attitude and soul.

self produced in their own studio
the dinosaurs are now in complete rage AND control!

THE CULT IS ALIVE
FURIOUS AS TIGER!

"call it black metal or evil rock, I don't care" - Fenriz 2005"

It's pretty obvious that they're just trying to have fun, so I don't think they've sold out or gone to shit yet, as Sardonic Wrath was a pretty good album (IMO)

Maybe that's a hint...

I think they were never good, but Hate Them was the last "true" black metal album. Sardonic Wrath kinda sucked IMO.

And I never said they sold out, or if I did, I take it back. What I said was that the album "The Cult Is Alive" sucks and is a joke. And it isn't funny, either. Manowar were funny (until they started being serious -- I like both sides to them.) Macabre are funny. This isn't. They may not have sold out, but they've gone to shit, seriously.

As hell.

"Mr. Albert Fish, was children your favorite dish?"

"Scrub a dub dub 3 men in a tub
Jeffrey Dahmer took showers with dead men in his tub
He was too tired to eat them all
So he stored them in cold water and disinfectant!"

"McDahmers!
It's not your kind of place
McDahmers!
It's not a happy place
McDahmers!
He'll boil off your face!
McDahmers!
You'll never leave his place!"

And with songs like Drill Bit Lobotomy, Jeffrey Dahmer and the chocolate factory, Acid Bath Vampire, and Holidays of Horror, how could you not find these guys abso-fuckin-lutely hilarious?

Just finished the acoustic song, Death Over Jarrow, for Asgarður's Fimbulwinter. Originally, it was gonna be a regular symphonic viking metal song, but we decided to acousticize it. The singing is top notch, the atmosphere is killer, and everything is awesome. We all sing, and the instrumentation is keyboards, acoustic 12 string, and six string bass.

speaking of funny bands... there's a band called detsorgsekalf, and though the source of the humor surrounding them is more a pitiful one than a clever humor one, they're still funny. there's a song on youtube called something to the effects of "from the blood of a thousand virgins arises chevy chase" and it's kind of entertaining.

i've been on a ban, that's why i haven't been posting.

i think CoB's "oops... i did it again" was pretty funny, btw.

I didn't, unfortunately. Simply because I can't stand that song. It's STILL being played on the radio ALL THE FUCKING TIME here.

I've been listening to a lot of Finntroll lately. One thing I noticed?

On Midnattens Widunder and Jaktens Tid, there are 2 pairs of "brother" songs:

Midnattens Widunder (song) and Den Hornkronte Konungen

Bastuvisan and Kyrkovisan. Same pattern. VERY similar riffs.

Also, after listening to Midnattens Widunder and Rifvader, I can see why people mistake Finntroll for being black metal. Rifvader was DEFINITELY black metal, and Midnattens Widunder had a lot of bm vocals and ambient guitar parts. And Midnattens Widunder had Katla singing, along with Rifvader, though on Rifvader I'm not sure if I'd call that singing.

Finntoll - All I have is Nattfodd, which isn't terrible, but my local store didn't have Jaktens Tid so I couldn't get it. : (

I liked them a lot, but then they got a little gimmicky. I do like the folk aspect of it, though,

Just a somewhat random question - Does anyone know if Varg got parole? He was supposed to last April, but I havent heard news, so I dont know what to assume.
