I hate my school.

Yeah, so today it was talent show.

The thing I literally have been waiting for a year.

so I practice really hard each day, and shit.

Solo guitar of course, nobody wants to play with me because they are too busy being pussies.

Okay!

So anyway, the show starts.

First band is some guys from the 8th grade, they play the song "Hero", not the nickleback one, but the other one.

So I think, "Ok, that's no match for me".

So next band, pretty good, they play a really good song, but I think as I did before.

Then it's my turn.

They announce my name, the crowd goes fucking wild when I go out, because they know I rule at guitar.

So anyway, I pick up my in flames/Steve Vai signed gibson flying V, and start to play.

I first start out with a clean, "316", by (Eddie) Van Halen, then move on to the mean street intro,(The tapping on the 12th frets), then I move on to hot for teacher, and then into eruption.
Tapping and all that shit, the crowd goes fucking crazy again before I even finish.

So I play kickass and shit.

Next acts, pretty good, 10th act was fucking amazing.

Some 9th graders that I'm friends with play Stairway to Heaven, he plays the solo awesome and shit.

So then it's over.

But you know what the thing that annoyed me the fucking most?

The guys that played first, played about 3 times more, except they had a different drummer or guitarist or singer.

Okay!

Winners.

3rd place: Girl from 8th grade, and the two guitarists that played three times.
You know what song?
"New York New York".

2:nd place: Same guys, don't remember the song, but it wasn't that good.

1:st place: The Stairway to heaven guys.

WHAT THE FUCK.

How could "New York New York" come third place? And how come I didn't even get 2nd place?

The crowd screamed like fuck when I did the upside down tapping.

This is total bullshit.

I'm never going to play at that talent show again.

You win a private victory to yourself. It doesn't matter what rating you got off a talent show, especially since it's not going to affect your playing skills.

Maybe you shouldn't have held your expectations so high. Realistically it's not the kids who were voting, it was the teachers. You shouldn't have played to the kids, but the judges.

One of my friends was one, but he told me that it was, umm, how do you say.... Friend voting.
