I don't like the death penalty, but it's something that should be there. And I think it's bad as it is having to die... making it the same way you killed your vitums would take too much work. and who would want to do it? Like what if some werid-o rips out the eye balls of all his vitums, and then starts eat off his arm while he's still alive? I know what your thing.. I'm pretty messed just for thinking it but still. Too much work and no one wants to do it. and there is always the chance they were srongly acused.

I have to agree - It does suck balls ( or something....lol ). The rush to make ourselves look good by giving these people an ounce of humanity and integrity, we have lost site of the victums and their humanity, integrity and family. Why is it that we must make it more humaine to disperse with a person on death row. Is it sending some kinda signal? And if so to whom? Certainly not me. I mean shit, I could think of a zillion other ways to die and this is more comforting than any I could think of if I were to somehow die today. I simply find this to be weak. Personally, I believe in an eye for an eye. Isn't it true that in other countries where punishements are more severe, that there is also a lower count of crime? I would certainly, myself, think twice before stealing something if I knew the punishment were to cut my hand off - wouldn't you?

the death penalty is just an easy way out for the killer. if u really want to punish them, put them in iso for life or torture them then put them in iso. If u kill them they get off to easy.

Your damn right. Especially as how the person recieving the death penalty gets a leathal painless injection. What the hell is that? A person murders another and all he gets a little permanent niquil? That should be reversed and i hope it is when i become an adult or ill do something about it.

People on death row should be hit with bricks right after they are sentenced. No need to keep them around for a few years and spend a lot of money.
If the person is clearly guilty, and is not retarded or whatever(last episode of OZ), they should get it over with quickly.
And I don't really beleive in Creul and unusually punishment, because if you've killed people before, and you're in jail because of it, and a CO kicks the shit out of you, then good. Innocent people becoming victims is no good.

Dude, Killing people for economical reasons, even murderers, is terrible. Locking someone up for life is much worse then killing them. All people in favor of the death penalty prepair to go back to the dark ages where no one is safe but the rich.

The death penalty has remained in use because it's the easiest way to solve a big legal mess. Before the debate started out, death was a widely accepted punishment around the world. What better way to make sure the person doesn't commit any more crimes, and at the same time discourage criminal activity than by killing the criminal? However, now that the United States has become a superpower, we can afford to spare peoples' lives and try to get them to become productive members of society. The main issue to me is not the death penalty, but the prison system. Prisoners shouldn't have to fear being raped or wounded by their prisonmates. Not many people know this, but the prison industry has quadrupled in business since 1990. The government is now giving out prison sentences instead of fines for misdemeanors and small felonies. Putting people in prison is NOT going to solve anything. It might even make things worse.

You are the dumbass. People don't go in front of a camera and kill someone. Many bodys are found in the middle of a corn field, a lot of cameras there. Don't talk unless you can come up with something intelligent to say.

It costs about $25,000 a year per inmate but it costs a couple million for most executions because of the appeals. Food for thought.

HOW ABOUT NO!! Torture that son of a bitch!! You want to kill whoever you want and tear there body apart?? Here! ALLOW ME TO DO THE SAME TO YOU!
Murderers should die the same way they killed their victems.
YES! I agree with you man! those stupid bastards that doesnt have the right to exist must die with thousand of time more pain than they inflicted and in a slow agony... and that would not be enough alredy! There is no pain in this world enough for those idiots.. maybe only in Hell. A quick, sleeping death is like giving a gift to those errors of humanity.

Murder's should die for what thy did i agree with that, but to hurt them that bad isn't gonna give them any justice, sure it might make you feel better but we all know the murder will go to hell wgich is the worst punishment there is so i wouldn't worry about how they die because whats after death is what to be afriad of.

I agree with torturing those shitheads as well:)
There are loaaaaaads of things worse than death. Even with the electric chair u only have to endure it for a few seconds then ur gone. HOw about letting those asses get ass raped in prison for a few decades then let them free so the rest of the public can fuck em up with a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it. Or how about killing their parents and then making them eat their dead parents. Now THAT would psycologically torture them.

The goal of the prison system and the death penalty is justice. Revenge isn't justice. However, I do see something wrong with those hundred or so people that Illinois governor George Ryan took off death row and reduced to life in prison. One of the men was a guy who killed my fourth grade teacher. However, I wouldn't want to see him tortured. If you go for revenge, the point of justice is lost.

I can't say for thre rest of you, but i support the more harsh death sentences. especially down here in Florida with "old sparky", aswell as some of the western states that still hang and execute people. The eye for an eye justice is probably in my opinion a good way to go about thing on certian issues not all. Like with some one who mass murders people, by all mean mutilate the mother fucker. but for accedental death orsplit second kills it should be a bit mileder like life sentence or so.
