For all you guitarists out there looking for something to plug your guitar into:

M-Audio JamLab

It's a USB interface for Guitar to Computer.
Some of you guys probably figured out that you can't simply plug your guitar straight into your computers soundcard/audio interface line or mic input and get a great sound. Guitars need to be plugged into a high impedance instrument input that matches the output of the guitar pickups. The absence of a dedicated instrument input on an audio interface requires the use of a seperate DirectInput box or preamp, but there are audio interfaces out there that make it simple by including an instrument input. Well, that's what this is for. It looks pretty cool too.

THis is probably as simple as you can get. All it has is a headphone jack and an instrument input. It also includes GT Express software with amp/effects simulation.

Read more about it.

For anyone who listens to music for recording purposes, you always need a good quality headphone. The Audio-Technica ATH-PRO700 SV Headphone is an amazing set of headphones for your listening and recording purposes. Their official line on this is that they are "DJ" headphones, but don't limit your opinion based on that. They are comfortable AND also have an amazing frequency response from 5 to 33,000Hz.

They are pricey though...they're $279 list price, but you get what you pay for.

If you want some more info on them, look on Audio Technica's website. I didn't look it up, just Google it.

That's insane! We can't even hear anything above like 20 kHz. The industry standard headphones are Sony MDR-7506. Thsoe are about $100 and are pretty bad ass.

For all you drummers, check out Fingerstix! Hahaha, they're (you guessed it) drum sticks for your fingers. The demonstration videos on the website are awesome.

The human ear generally responds between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, yes. But the point of that frequence response is that the low end bass is more clearly defined. And the only reason the MDR's are industry standard material at all is their price, there are much better headphones out by AT and Sennheiser, but if you're on a budget the Sony MDR-7506 is a good buy.

uhh... nope.

I can't see any way in which those would be better than regular sticks. Can you say, "gimmick?" Plus, the guy needs to take a class in public speaking or something...

The HD.6X-Pro Digital Guitar (aka HD Les Paul)!

It's all digital. The strings go through a Cat5 cable, send them all to different amps. You can also bring it up on your computer through audio production programs like SONAR (included).
Low latency PLUG-IN CRAZINESS.

I would have a concert at my house. Put my 5.1 surround computer speakers in the living room, with different Plug-in pre-amps for each chord, on a separate speaker....
MWAHAHAHA

Cost: YOUR SOUL

The Reactable

The reactable, is a state-of-the-art multi-user electro-acoustic music instrument with a tabletop tangible user interface. Several simultaneous performers share complete control over the instrument by moving physical artefacts on the table surface and constructing different audio topologies in a kind of tangible modular synthesizer or graspable flow-controlled programming language.

The reactable hardware is based on a translucent round table. A video camera situated beneath, continuously analyzes the table surface, tracking the nature, position and orientation of the objects that are distributed on its surface, representing the components of a classic modular synthesizer. These objects are passive without any sensors or actuators, users interact by moving them, changing their position, their orientation or their faces (in the case of volumetric objects). These actions directly control the topological structure and parameters of the sound synthesizer. A projector, also from underneath the table, draws dynamic animations on its surface, providing a visual feedback of the state, the activity and the main characteristics of the sounds produced by the audio synthesizer.

For any of you who may be looking for a new sequencer, try this one, it's called Reaper and is programmed by one guy on his own, the program is regularly updated so in time I can see this one surpass some of the more popular sequencers. Oh and it's free ;)

OTTO Audio Software
IDM Craziness! Has a library of 4+ GB with instruments to construct, loop, sequence, surround and tons of other things. Part of the beauty of OTTO is that every sound represented in a loop or sequence instrument, is also found individually as a hit, thus the user has maximum creative flexibility. The loops and sequences range from simple to busy, catering both to music makers who require maximum efficiency, as well as to composers who want to create their own loops and sequences from the ground up.

Got it, and it's a very nice combination of features found in other costly sequencers and multitracks.
