you may all know about wal-mart. but, did you know about their lies? they tear down small comunities. they have no employe benifits, workers have to buy medicare. in china they make workers work with no breaks 7 days a week all day. and if the workers in china say the truth of what is happening they get fired.(eventually some spoke out). wal-mart has had many fines from: enviromential issues, employe benifits, illegal working conditions, ect. I have learned much of this from the movie:wal-mart: the high cost of low prices. go rent it and watch it. so, next time you buy something from wal-mart just remember the pain those workers go though because wal-mart took away their old job. and now there making a new one in my city! (vancouver, WA)
p.s. sorry for spelling, I'm only 12

You need to gain a little more posting experience before you start a topic.
I think 10-20 more posts would be a good basis

There's no post requirement on making topics. Dude saw a problem and he presented it. Granted he should do a little more lurking, but there's nothing wrong with making a thread while having a low post count.
On topic, I buy from Wal*Mart because I'm poor as hell and I need all the cheap stuff I can get. It's called the real world.
Think you're pretty clever...

That's not fucking relevant.
Anyway, I'd go online and do a little research before completely believing any kind of video.
On the other hand, who doesn't know walmart's evil already?

I wouldn't bring it up at all, except that -poxpower- locked a thread similar to this one.
It is a very good topic, I agree

It should also be noted that Wal-Mart outsources jobs to China, simultaneously eliminating employment oppurtunities in our country, and transparently employing workers who are too poor and too desparate to ask for the basic minimum wage workers in our country receive.

Go ahead and boycott walmart then.
But then you should also boycott all grocery stores because they all hire Mexicans who are too poor and too desparate to ask for the basic minimum wage, not to mention not legal enough to do so.
You'll just end up having to pay more for every necessity, which is a situation most young people can't afford.

If the people dont want to work at wal mart, then they can work at the best buy next to it, or get a better education.
If Wall Marts low prices are because of the bad worker conditions, then I guess im encouraging bad worker conditions.

Yes, I would.
Because everytime I a see someone who complains about their job having too low of a pay, bad benifits, or just bad overall, I think about the kids in my class who say "fuck school" and "whatever, i'll just turn it in late".

Not everyone is necessarily from a nation where they were given a chance to educate themselves. There's always people who are stuck at the bottom because they moved here from a crappy country, so they don't even have the money to start an american education. They can always save up money from the walmart job, but it'll take forever since they need to have food and shelter too.
Just keep in mind not everyone is in the crapper because of their own damn fault.

They don't lie about it.
they tear down small comunities.
No, PEOPLE do by not buying from local businesses anymore.
they have no employe benifits, workers have to buy medicare.
Then don't work for Wal-mart. =P
in china they make workers work with no breaks 7 days a week all day. and if the workers in china say the truth of what is happening they get fired.(eventually some spoke out).
Because China doesn't have labor laws, so blame the Chinese government.
wal-mart has had many fines from: enviromential issues, employe benifits, illegal working conditions, ect. I have learned much of this from the movie:wal-mart: the high cost of low prices. go rent it and watch it.
Because movies are the ultimate source of knowledge.
so, next time you buy something from wal-mart just remember the pain those workers go though because wal-mart took away their old job.
THEY buy from Wal-mart and THEY work for Wal-mart. Don't blame a corporation for following the Golden Rule of capitalism; make money.
and now there making a new one in my city! (vancouver, WA)
Start a resistance group?
p.s. sorry for spelling, I'm only 12
I could still spell better than that when I was 12. =P Younger, even.
Note: Not once have I said Wal-mart is a good thing, but it IS the fault of the people; if they really do dislike Wal-mart, they should be willing to pay a little extra from local retailers. Why, I bet YOU will be buying from there before too long....

Gunter is right, if there was a Wal-Mart near me; I'd shop there too. When you get older, you end up with bills to pay. The same bills, every month. And they never go down, they always go up! That's reality.

I'm not talking about chinese workers or mexican immigrants, I'm talking about idiots who work at stores complaining about their jobs, when they squandered away the opportunities that were given to them.

Yeah, my grandma was one of those people. She moved from south korea when she was 14 and had no money.
Just because you come from a poor area with no education doesnt mean you have an excuse to fail.
Just keep in mind not everyone is in the crapper because of their own damn fault.
No, but the reason they stay in it is their own damn fault.

That's not true. There are many people out there who aren't powerful enough to change their lives because other, more powerful people are supressing them by the time they were born. Those starving ethiopians sure as hell aren't still starving because they're lazy.

Your right, some people are doomed to it. But thats a small percentage, and a lot of people in povery could get out off it.

I do see the dilema though. You may never know who deserves the sympathy and who doesn't.
