Whenever I try to play a .swf from my desktop or from my computer, it can't play Flash 8 movies. I have Flash 8 Player and can watch those movies online, but from my desktop, it says Flash Player 7 in the right click menu. How can I install Flash 8 Player for my desktop?
.
To me that made no sense? IF you have flash player 8 there is no reason you can't watch flash 8 swf files?
Go download Flash 8 Player again...
If you insist that they wont be played from the desktop, then move them to C:\
._.

Maybe the screenshot will help.
I have Flash 8 Player and can watch movies that have filters and stuff from flash 8 that are embedded online, but not on my computer. This is what i says.

Ok if the following is true:
You do not own Flash 8...the program not player. You make Flash in Flash MX 04 right?
Then this is the problem:
Folks who own Flash have a stand-alone player that can view swf's w/o a browser. Your standalone player is version 7 the swf on your desktop is version 8. you cant view it without opening it in your browser or downloading Flash 8
Aha okay.
So people who don't own the program Flash couldn't even be able to open the file from their desktop?
.
you need Flash 8 to watch Flash 8 files from your desktop, ít's that easy...
and not Flash Player 8, hell, you need flash to Play Flash files from your desktop

No you can, you just have to open it in your browser... Just clicking it wont work, you'll have to actually type the path into your address bar.
People who do not own the program do not get the stand alone player which is what your screenshot is of. They just get the embedded player in their browser.
