Yep, the Creator of "The Ultimate Showdown" gone wild after seeing this review:
"here is some constructive criticism:
Graphics: the drawings were pretty bad, not very solid, and looked like cheap high school doodles (let's be honest here). The purpose of caricaturing is LIKENESS, unfortunately if i were watching this without sound, I would have not been able to tell who the hell was who because the drawings were bad, poorly designed and the caricatures did not even match the famous people that were featured in the cartoon. i.e. Chuck Norris. sorry buddy but leave the drawing to the people who actually know what they are doing. The only thing that saved you is probably a Batman character, or Godzilla(which even then could have passed for some random green dinosaur), which are instantly recognizable based on their iconic characters in the first place.
style: the animation was mostly shortcut flash tweening, and it wasn't really even done well (particullary the last scene where that guy stabs himself with a sword?). An example of a good use of flash tweening is probably that guy who did Bitey Brackenwood etc. Maybe you should study that and pick up "Preston Blair: Cartoon Animation" from your local bookstore and learn how to animate properly, it will improve your cartoons vastly! Start learning things like anticipation squash and stretch, exaggerration, staging, follow-through,and most importantly timing (when you show someone punching, make sure it looks like a punch and not an arm flail).
Sound: I dunno if this has something to do with the export quality to save size (if it is, then i totally understand), but the song itself, seemed like it was poorly produced, where i could hear obvious distortion and clipping and just poor mixing overall. I would suggest picking up some introduction to sound mixing, or if you are really serious about mass producing music, get a buddy who has protools, or any other program and learn how to properly EQ and Mix and Master your music. You owe it to yourself and to your listeners, if you are going to be selling music, to at least make sure it sounds good.
Violence: the violence in this cartoon is the only pseudo-decent thing from what I could tell. Some of it was mildly creative but still, most of the execution was so poor that it detracted from the potential of each violent act in the cartoon.
Interactivity: N/A
Humor: I did not laugh or smirk at all when watching this. I did not find any of it funny. Dropping popular names and pop culture references and rhyming them together is nothing new, and this was a sub-par attempt at that.
Good points: I suppose the best thing about this is that it was creative in its approach of meshing the worlds of different popular characters together, however I found the song to be fairly annoying and the the movie itself dragging less than midway through.
I noticed the link to flash portal. I guess that would explain that if you greased some hands over there you could easily get them to vote high on your cartoon here.
It's a shame to see these kinds of politics involved in NG where it is more about voting high on your buddies cartoon than actually each viewers conritbution to QUALITY CONTROL. This means that you as the viewers should vote HONESTLY on quality and only let the best cartoons prevail over the vast amount of mediocre and joker submisssions. Just something to thing about."
If you didn't have courage to read all, just read the answer from the artist, and you'll understand:
.Heres a few things
#1 shut the fuck up and quit acting like your opinion is better that others
#2 That's not constructive criticism it's just insults
#3 I got piad for the flashportal link, and I have no "friends" on newgroudns I get to vote me high. whether you like it or not I didn't cheat the system so keep your whiney self important faggot opinions out of the area I'm reading.
If you think the drawing suck I don't care you can tell me whatever I'll take it with a grain of salt, but don't fuckign accuse me of cheating the portal by gettign a bunch of friends to vote me up. Fuck you..
Pretty harsh heh?
Was that topic long?
