Death Penalty is becmomg abolished in a lot of States. In the few sacred states that still have Capital punishment, the electric chair is being changed to "lethal Injection" which is a very very pleasent way to die. People are being ripped apart by chainsaws, stabbed with knives, shot to a bloody pulp, and the worst thing these violent criminals are fearing is falling asleep after a slight prick in the arm. Ohh they might have an alergic reaction though. Ohh noo! Activists are trying to abolish the electric chair. Which is cruel and unusual. It wasn't in the day. Thank god for Washington though. Hanging is ok.

So it's wrong for one person to butally, painfully kill someone, but it's OK for society to brutally, painfully kill another person?

I agree, to kill one person for killing another person is just making yourself a hipocrate. It's one thing to do so in self defense, that's saving one life from dying, but killing someone after the fact...well that doesn't help anyone, except for grief ridden families, and you know what? They feel JUST as bad after the killer died as before. Oh they're glad the killer is dead and they have vengance, but they still miss their family member/friend, and it's not going to bring him back.

It takes about 12 minutes or more for a person to be totally dead after hanging. it's the slowest death compare to electric chair but however, it's cheap. that's why Singapore adopt it.
to me, a death penalty should be done as fast as possible, resulting a tortureless killing or a less painful death. i perfer lethal injection. it takes 10 minutes only. if our heart stop beating for 10 mins, we die.
Death penalty is necessary for those criminal who murder another life ON PURPOSE without any remorse or grief in his heart.
Except for those INSANE. Of course. for them, it will be life imprisonment.

Punishments is necessary for those ppl who refuse to change even though they are being warn or advise by his loved ones with care and concern before.
If they cannot get the msg thro the soft way at the very first place, then they will need it to receive the hard way.
it's through punishment, we realise our mistakes. Once bitten, twice shy.

Are you sure? just see how they are in palestine following it
Remeber that the objectives of a punishment is to make the criminal think about it AND TO REINSERT IN SOCIETY THE CRIMINAL. Of course, if you kill the criminal he doesn't reinsert.
this has been an ancient problem for the law. how can you be sure the criminal is sorry and he isn't acting ?

The only problem is, cold blooded murderers argue that they couldn't control themselves, had a black out etc. etc. Yes they do hire professional psychologists, but even they can be fooled. Is that the kind of justice you want? I do think murderers should pay, but what about the man that has to say "guilty"? Isn't he a murderer just as well? Also, many people are wrongfully convicted. You can't resurrect someone when you find out he wasn't guilty a week after he was executed. What then, you put him in the electric chair and pull the lever the other way?

I think being locked in jail for your entire life is a far worse punishment then death. I don't care how big a guy is in a prison society, he will still hate being where he is and regret what he did. Letting their mind take over them is far worse. I say let them stew in their cell until their last dying day.
