Everyone critises Bush for being an idiot, but besides having a speech impedime1nt, what has he actually done wrong?

I think Bush should be praised for having the balls to do something about Afghistahn and Iraq. Afg... was invaded cause of Taliban, and OBL, Iraq was invaded because he had not admitted weapon inspectors. Would you prefer that they were left alone to build nukes?

Bush has plunged our economy, turned on the National Debt clock (which the Democrats worked so hard to turn off), put lots of unfair bullshit into the National Homeland Security Bill (parents can no longer sue medicine companies for giving their children devasting drugs), all of which kind of automaticly make him a shitty president. Bush obviously doesn't give a flying fuck about anyone who doesn't earn/steal millions of dollars per year. At least Nixon tried to hide it a little bit.

I admit he's done something warwise but all of his intentions revolve around a big damn field of oil. Aren't there other dicators we can overthrow? Do they have to live on top of fossil fuel?

So what if Irag's being invaded partly due to the oil. If anyone tries to mess with the n. koreans, there will be loads more deaths. There are loads of africans who would oppose anything happening to mugabe.

Afghanistan is an easy target cause its military is crap. Hussain should be removed cause of all his war crimes alone, and if he's trying to become a more annoying power: more like n. korea then it would be stupid not to oppose him.

As for the domestic policies of Bush... Well... To be honest im kind of ignorant: that stuff doent really get reported in the UK. However: i still here a lot of critism over Bush's forign policy alone. You are the 1st ive heared person whose actually gone into the domestic.

I do believe that theres nothing wrong with Bush's forign policy, and that Bush is generally demonised fairly. Ive got no problem with people making fun of him, but there's a lot of unkind, ungrounded abuse out there.

This thread is kind of done in jest, kind of to educate me about Bush (i think my opinion of him is suspiciously hig) and kind of to stop people just slagging the man off: like that's ever going to happen

btw, i seriously doubt N. Korea is really that bent on causing mayhem... my guess its more of a political manourve to get more bribe money from the US for not causing trouble.

just like the troops being moved to the middle east are for show to a certain extent... walk softly and carry a big stic is a rule for being listened to in politics, and the troops are the stick. Hussain would hae to be a complete loon to try and wage any sort of war against the US by itself

Did anyone read in the newspaper a few days ago about America planning to build a road to the centre of Antarctica? A lot of people think there might be large oil fields under that ice... and that's the last place on earth where Bush doesn't have to kick out a dictator or anyone else to get to it.

I agree with a lot of what he says , so many dictators why saddam only ? This war was because of oil and bush sucks. Prasie bush ? HAHA Wont be seeing anyone do that any time soon.

You guys are missing the point....

By invading iraq would be hitting like 20 birds with one stone.

1) he would get oil
2) He would be toppling a dictator who keeps control by force and carries out atrocities on his own people, something which would bring immense relief to loads of iraqis, at a very small cost seeing as how crap the iraqi army is
3) in the long term it would help diffuse the middle-east crises, because hussain actively propogates terrorism against other nations
4)it would make other dictators clean up their act because they know that bush has the balls to carry through his threats
5)It would mean the US could be impartial cause it would have its own oil supply, and thus wouldn't have to side with one faction or another for economic reasons
6)It would mean Hussain couldn't get any more weapons of mass destruction, which he will use or sell to other terrorists if not checked.
