Hi, well I wanted to put this kick ass song by a proper band on my movie but I'm confused at whether ill get sued or newgrounds wont accept it, will someone explain whether it's legal to do that because I have seen loads of other movies with proper songs

Well, as long as you don't make a profit, most copyright-holders are ok with you using their copyrighted material. However, some (lego) are not, but they will not sue you, they'll just demand that you remove their material from the internet.
