punk rock-REAL punk rock

hey everybody.

i continue to hear punk rock in the modern day. once i realize that punk rock is the new label for alternative or pop rock, i cringe thinking of the lost punk era (especially because i wasnt a part of it. hmph).

SO! im making a list, the best punk rock ever, a list from newgrounds. no greenday, no sum 41, none of that bullshit. some of the stuff that comes to time is the anti-nowhere league, the minutemen, the sex pistols, the misfits, and more if i thought about it.

so: what is some good punk?

They are all pop bands.

Seriously, don't try and act as if they are any different from the bands around nowadays. They all make songs for an audience, they don't sound aggressive, they sing about politics when they tend to know very little about it and they all cling to notions like "melody".

BTW, Johnny Lydon didn't like The Sex Pistols being called a Punk band until it was profitable for him to do so, he would describe them as a Rock band and he would probably cry if he seen this thread.
