By insisting that our society be based on material wealth we and refusing to pay for a job that requires less effort with a higher salary, we have condemned anyone who works those jobs to live a lower life. Someone has to work those jobs. If no one works those lower jobs then our society fails as it is and crumbles from the bottom down.
Claiming that they are less than those above them enforces the system while killing it. Those who leave the system and take I don't approve of, but I also can't blame people for complaining about situations which aren't great. Not all people who work those jobs aren't qualified to move up, but not everyone can move up.
I also don't have a problem with people creating a sub culture, but its different if the culture becomes violent, though once again, I don't know if I can blame them. There is no real solution to these problems because someone has to work the job. So unless we can find unthinking unfeeling minions to do our work for us in the lower areas then we will always be stuck with this problem.
This is why should invest our money into robotics. Robots won't care if they have to cook greasy burgers all day if they are programmed not care. Robots won't complain or start some sub culture that is bent on showing how tough it is. Robots are the way of the future and then surely all men can work equally above the robots and machines we have created to take our places.
Hopefully there will be enough jobs for people and robots won't become a cheap source of labor that forces the once poorly supported people to be completly jobless.
