Sound & Animation Sync 2006-04-08 06:46:36 Reply

Hi guys,

This might have a really simple answer, but I'll ask anyway! I made a flash animation set to a piece of music. I was a little confused, because I matched the cues of the animation to the 'sound strip' picture on the Audio Layer. But, when I played it in Flash or on the Internet the timings were all wrong! >.< So, I spent a long time reconfiguring and getting it to play exactly in sync so it looked perfect when I played it as a .swf file.

Problems arose when I sent it to a mate. We watched it on HIS computer and the timings were all wrong!!!! wtf?! How can I ensure that all my audio vs. animation cues are correct because it seems like my computer is insistant on playing every frame regardless of how long it takes. I mean, that masterpiece 'Shoo Fly' got it down to a T. I'm making my flash animation for a 5 minute song, but the timings get more and more out as it goes along. Help me!

How do I do it?!?!

Hey, I'm having a similar problem, However, what he means by setting it to stream is when you enter a sound in flash and then click on it in the frame there are options which come up at the bottom of the flash window

In this box you can set certain properties of the sound like volume, effects, loop and sync etc.
If you click on the arrow on the sync box you can change to different settings such as Event, Start, SStream etc. So what he means is just change that box to stream to make it match up, Good luck!

1) Click the frame you would like the sound to start on. Select your sound from the dropdown menu in the properties panel.

2) Double click on the some properties panel in the grey area, if it is not expanded already. Change the event dropdown to "stream". And, you can also set the looping pattern, whether the sound loops or not, by selecting the next drop down over to "loop".

Now the sound should stream, but only if you keep the sound on one continuous frame (aka, you can see the wavelength).

Hi there!
