As the Title suggests, Im looking for a (free) Composing program on the PC for download. The main genre I would be doing would be Techno, so If anyone knows if I can get some sort of composing program for the PC, please tell me.

Right off the bat, this program is not free. But for those of you who are interested (Flash artists and whomever), this is top notch scoring. It's probably THE best music notation software on the planet.
And just came out with version 4. HELLZ YEAH.
Free trial....Read more ---> !HERE!

sibelius is indeed good, but i'm a finale fanatic myself. Finale is much more powerful than sibelius users will ever know (that's why it's about twice as much). If you're seriously into traditional music writing (5 lines, clefs, etc.), this is the program to get. lots of people criticize finale for being too complicated -- the reason for this is the fact that it does everything. If you're willing to commit an hour or two to tinkering with the program to figure it out, finale is the way to go.

I believe that both Finale and Sibelius are equally good programs, and it comes down to a personal choice. Sibelius has a much better looking interface, though i like the controls of Finale better. I've used a few different versions of both programs, and I personally believe Finale comes out on top (especially with all of it's plugin support). Either one would do a fantastic job.
