You assume too much. I totally can. I find that FF movie to be complete shit. Here's why.
the characters have no more than 1 frame, they aren't even his artwork, and they are based off of a pre-existing world with pre-existing ties to eachother. I didn't find the movie funny other than the reference to the omelette forest thingie, so to me, that's what I saw. I feel like anybody who made top 5 today is easily better, and that TLF's movie is a piece of shit.
I can totally stand 2nd place, as long as I am losing to something decent. (IE. karma ghost, johnny rocketfingers, Qi, etc.) That's no problem.
Here's a summary I sent to someone else who said a similar thing about me.
What I look at/for:
1) originality in story, characters, etc.
2) humor.
3) NO use of other people's art. sprites, images found on the net, other people's gif animations, etc. are not any representation of that person's effort. It's stealing and completely uncreative. It is claiming someone else's effort as your own, and blatent thievery. I'd like to see how you can disagree with that one.
4) the amount of fresh frames and poses.
so let's analyze that FF movie with these things I personally look at:
1) nope, nada.
2) all a matter of taste, of course. I found only 1 line funny, and the rest was dull.
3) blatent thievery of art and photography the entire way through.
4) next to none.
wow. so we have a completely unoriginal, stolen artwork piece with voice acting on top of it. hooray.
hopefully that clears stuff up a bit for you?
