Why hate Israel?

I don't see why so many liberals hate Israel, the only democratic nation in the middle east?

Why is it MUCH better than it's neighbors?

1. Women can vote
2. Gays can serve openly in the military
3. Nationalized healthcare
4. Freedom of the press
5. Hasn't executed a single person since Eichmann
6. Full acceptance of GLBT

I don't beleive the hate is for Israel or Israeli's, but moreso the involvement US-Israeli relations has required. Many of the issues, at least pre 9/11, that effected the US in the middle east were due to the US's close ties to Israel. This gave the US many enemies and sort of a tough and expensive foreign policy in the area.

I agree, though there were times that our ties in the region could have snowballed into far greater problems, and possibly into a great war.

Considering it's the only successful nation through the middle east is worth defending for.

No one is going hanged for being gay or raped in Israel or almost put to death for changing religion.

Israel is only successful because It puts on the face of a Democracy while gleefully watching billions of american dollars channel into their fat pockets.They barely have natural resources.Their lifeline is the US,and while Americans spout how good Israel is although they have killed 3,000 civilians mostly children and women,those Americans still have no idea that they are paying taxes to the country.

Again, why do many places in the middle east like Egypt, which also get aid, can't even compare to the quality of life or freedoms as say israel?

Oh, sure, sure, the "face of a democracy." In Arab nations, hell, even in the Palestinian-administered regions, homosexuals are hung, for one. Then we have all the other abuses of human rights, and, in Palestinian areas, people (even children) being recruited for terror.

You will notice, of course, that it's nearly impossible to tell which palestinian casualty (in your 3,000 figure) is a noncombatant or not. You can't prove that they were civillians. You can't hold a government responsible for deaths that result as an independent action of hate of its troops, but you can certainly hold the individual soldier(s) and his or her officer responsible. Of course, we can't tally the number of Palistinian extrajudicial executions, because they don't have a justice system. So, by that note, all executions done by Palestinians are extrajudicial, and I guarantee you that number is FAR above 187.

Umm, not really hate, but oppose to it's existance.

Firstly; it's the root of all middle eastern violence today, well, most middle eastern violence and the whole jihadist movement.

Secondly; the world would be a lot less violent if it didn't exist because then so many people wouldn't be pissed off at Israel and bombing the fuck out of people who like Israel.

In short, the existance of Israel is merely putting fire on the anarchaic states the Middle East was before it's existance.
