"C'mon you fucking slow piece of shit, finish charging!" Nick screamed, completely spent as he fended off Zeds that were beginning to reach the cannon. The fire keeping the mutated Johenson at bay was still raging. Nick could hear really weird cracking noises coming from the other side.
30 seconds.
Nick pegged a few more zombies, then stopped short, there weren't many left. The fire was stopping Zed re-enforcements from reaching them. The others saw this and took heart, quickly laying waste on the remainder.
20 seconds.
The noise from the cannon was getting much louder now. Nick felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as electricity seemed to permeate the air. Most of the trapped zombies were dead now, and the wounded humans were being attended to by their buddies. The strange noises stopped...
10 seconds.
The fire suddenly vanished revealing an absolutely terrifying sight. Johenson had managed to break a three story building from the ground and was dragging it into the middle of the street.
5 seconds.
He began to move forward, pushing the building in front of him
4 seconds.
He grabbed onto the sides.
3 seconds.
He lifted it above his head!
2 seconds.
He tottered for a moment.
1 second.
He cocked back to throw.
"Ready to fire." said the cannon's computer.
Johenson threw the building straight at the cannon. At the same time, Nick hit the control to the rail gun, aiming it at the building and hit the trigger.
Everything metal within 10 feet of the cannon was sucked towards it, then flung foward as the powerful electromagnets activated and fired the armor-piercing explosive charge in the chamber.
The building was hit square on and disintergrated partway before blowing up.
Nick didn't waste any time. He knew the lasers as is might not kill Johenson. He quickly hit the "Overcharge" button, dumping all battery power into the laser capacators, then pried open the panel below the controls. He quickly slid in his knife and cut any green wires, as well as the power to the internal batteries ans the rail gun, effectively shorting out the ground, and the batteries plus rail gun were kept from taking in any more power.
The cannon's whine suddenly got a whole lot louder as all the excess electricity was funnelled into the cannon and straight to the lasers. Electricity began arcing all over the twin cannons, as Nick rotated them horizontal. He put his finger on the button and waited for the smoke to clear, all the while knowing that the static in the cannon could kill him instead of going into the lasers.
Johenson stepped into view, madder than ever, but stopped short when he saw the ends of the lasers glowing bright blue, shining with pent-up power.
"You want to kill us all, huh!?" screamed Nick, letting out all his rage by screaming at the bastard that had made their lives hell through-out this endless, shitty night, "Well come and and get us, you miserable, mindless, FUCK!!" Nick slammed the button.
"Everyone, hit the deck!" bellowed Joseph before hitting the ground himself.
The whine stopped, and then, the lasers discharged all their might onto one target. It was the Apocolypse, contained within two bright beams of light.
Each of the lasers was bright blue, and white in the middle. Both were huge, at least 15 feet in diameter at least.
Johenson roared as Nick began to move the lasers upward, frying Johenson from toe-to-head. As Nick hit the torso, Johenson stopped making any noise and the cannon finally burnt out as Nick reached his head.
A blackened, half-annailated husk was all that remained before it crumbled into dust.
Nick's ears were ringing, his eyes were burning and his head was pounding. But he didn't care as he leaned heavily on the now-dead cannon's dark control panel.
"It...is done." he said.
