Why didn't you class me as a veteran Chicky?.

Anyway,if we do in fact start again what would the storyline be exctly?.I'm sure shalak would rather have his own thread than starting near the end of an old RPG.
i in my own opinion think we should stick with the zombie idea.It was started as a zombie survival and it should stay that way.but that isn't to say we can't change the story a little bit now is it.
I wan't to hear Dragon and slap's ideas on this,we were the original writers so it's only fair we have a large say in the matter.

I do not fear death and yet i am in no hurry to die.

Misu' you're obviously a veteran lol, and you have a huge say in what we should do. But as I said about the zombies, I've just run out of what to do, if we want to keep this story together, we need to get everone together and head towards a similar goal.

I would love to fully develop my character in this story as I have a couple good internal changes to him I wanted to make from the beginning (including an epologue).

So someone think of a way to get everyone together so we can go kick some Shadow Man ass. Because I have a feeling we are giving up a little too easy on this story, and it's only another what, 20 days? (In the story, not real life obviously). So we need to take our main characters and divise a plan to save Ben's freind (if he's not dead) and get out of this town before whatever happens, happens.

---------------

Also, I think I may have found why we are so split up,... multiple characters. Most people have 3 characters when they start up, so they're pretty much self sufficiant in whatever they can do. This gives them no incentive to join up with other survivors for protection. Thus the story is cut up into multiple storylines (for each group of people), and this is making it harder on the few with only 1 person (i.e. Me, Shalak'....) as we can't join up with these groups, and then must figure out how to join the few lone characters roaming around.

So I don't think we have a right to tell someone to only make 1 char, but I highly suggest it as a means of bettering the RP.

Oops, sorry Misumena, completely slipped my mind, my deepest apologies. Anyhow, I think that maybe we should take a little figurative vacation, give the thread time to cool off and our minds to develop along something else, then come back to this with a fresh perspective and fresh ideas, start it going again and finish it off with a passionate bang, rather than a forced poof.

Thats my plan, my contribution to our brainstorm, and I'd like to here everyone else's.

((Anyone can just not post till they find something. That's no problem. But just so you all know I've already started a brew in my head for my next part, I just need to get all of the 'ingredients' right so that it's worth it.

A little background as to why Jak is getting all moody. Since I'm 14 I recently went through puberty (I know...) and understood the way people have mood swings, and how the human mind is actually pretty fucked up. As I went through this period of errational emotions, anger, depression, and agitation, I could see myself but hated myself for the shit I couldn't change. And the original plan for Jak was to be the strong but silent type, but after Sgt. Danny said that Jak obviously couldn't handle the situation in the Sawmill I decided to take a different plan into action. By this the time Jak went through his first change (The serial killer like voice) I was over puberty and back to normal, but I still want to take that and go into the phycological aspect of the story...what would seeing people pulled apart and eaten do to you?

I also thought of the people in war, like the Vietnam War and some others where they would witness horrors so extreme that their minds could not take the stress, and they break down, some shut down, some get paranoia and other nervousness problems, lots have nightmares, just overall mental damage.

So I just wanted to share a little of my thoughts when I'm writing for Jak Kingsly. This also helping me get thoughts into my 'brew'.

Haha puberty, what a magical time . . . Listen if you are having a terrible time dealing with the . . . ur . . . negative aspects of the human mind and bodies development into adulthood then perhaps you should give the more positive aspects a spin, to be quite frank masturbation is, quite fun, and youtube is a good starting off point, might I suggest girl on girl in the search bar and keep looking till you find a couple making out, and well give your hands a crash course. I'm sorry if I made anyone feel, uncomfortable but its my insight into surviving puberty and by very, very, very natural and fun means.

This probably shouldn't be in the forum but hell, I need to chat...

Yes puberty is a magical time, it makes you more confident, you discover your turn ons/offs, you grow (lol) and you learn as a person more deeply but, I hope I never ahve to go through that again...even in another life...

Masturbation, yeah, believe it or not, I found out what it actually was when I was like 10, but once I started 'changing' it helped alot with the obvious horny teenager problems. And yes I watch porn, but for more than just the get my shot off, people shouldn't be so ashamed of sex, it's a wonderful way for people to make others happy. Recently I started looking closely, and started learning things I hadn't known, like how a womans vaginal area is actually set up, sensitive areas, their turn ons/offs, and most recently the effective way to give a woman oral (which I deffinantly want to do (O.O)) and what circumsizition actually implies (which I found out that I'm actually am, and like it more than all that extra skin.).

Now all this should actually be in the "Relationship Forum" but I'll ammend this all later. Chickidy, if you ever wanna chat about guy stuff I'm all for it.

So everyone agrres that we will take a small intermission to refresh our minds and then try to finish out this story.

Good. Just so we're clear on everything.

Just had a chance to read up on the updates.

1} I agree the RP needs restarting and a new forum

2} I need more people to IM me about whether they want to join the RP club. I'm sticking to the rules of no actual RPing in the club itself, as it'll confuse the whole thing. Just discussions on roleplaying in general, as well as space to whore RP site, MSNs/AIMs for 1x1 RPs e.c.t.

3} I'm still throwing in the WW3 idea in the pot, but reading Jak's 'typo' {I think it was anyways], an RP set in WW2 could be another idea. Hmm, Nazis, spies, SAS, OCP and all manner of subterfuge, and it'll obviously have a central plot to it. I smell something cooking...

4} Finishing this story would be good, but before hand we need to make a plan and AGREE on how everyone's getting together, and where everyone would like to take it. I hate unfinished RPs, but we can't just jump in and rush the whole thing, it'd spoilt everyone's hard work.

5} Yay! I'm official counted as a veteran on NG at-fucking-last.

I used to have to work my arse off for months before getting recognition in other RP sites, so it's nice to know NGers have a little respect for an 8 year RP veteran. Yes. I'm so sad, I've been activelly RPing for the last 8 years straight... xP

My Alien idea is still out there as well.

Anyway, I think the best course of action is to make a new thread for the sake of it being less confusing, in addition to Shalak's RP club, and start our little vacation RP of either WW3, WW2, or whatever we decide upon, get fairly well into that and then sort all the shit out in this thread once we feel up to it. Are we agreed?

((I've been thinking about all the ideas I've seen, and I've also thought up an intro I'd use if we started the whole thing over. I'd start off with my character being a 30-year-old cop, and I'd throw in my two siblings, as well as the crash two years prior that killed my twin brother. That would all be in my intro post. I'm all for starting a whole new thread for this. I'd still like to finish the current story, but I've had too much trouble thinking of things to write, which is why I don't post much in here. I like the ideas I've seen, and the fact that I'm a veteran. Hopefully we'll get something figured out.))

((I heartily agree with all of y'all's ideas. Honestly, I've really lost track of where this is going. Before, back in Survival RP part one, from page 1 to like 90-something, it always worked out in the end. I think what happened was like ten people all quit at once, leaving me and three others alone together. We were all together, and had been for some time. This led to no confusion whatsoever, and common goals in writing. It all ended up sitting pretty together and wrapped up Chapter 1 quite nicely.

In Chapter 2, we went to another city, and got more medival on the Zeds. It was more of a thinking man's RP then. I wove in the most complex thing I've ever written about corporate espoinage, back-stabbing, differing virus strains, and another poster tied that in to his own sub-plot. The end result, in my opinion, was quite explosive, literally. We killed the main villain like four fucking times. Fun was had and several main NPCs died. I felt that gave a very human element to the RP. It ended on a high note and plenty of incentive to keep it going.

In Chapter 3, we all split up. This was actually quite a double-edged sword. On the one hand, we never had to worry about anyone but those in our group. On the other, several subplots may have gone un-noticed, and died out before fully maturing into buckets of awesome. It all somewhat fell apart right before the end, and I thought it wise to wrap it up quickly and start her over again. So I quickly finished up the main plot in one quick and dirty post, leaving SO many loose ends. We posted epilogues to our characters and left it at that.

In Part Two, Chapter One, what we're currently doing, I honestly haven't a goddamn clue. There's about two very in depth and detailed main plots. One at City Hall, the other, the saw mill or something. I think. See? I'm already fucking this up. There's about five groups running around, each doing their own thing. In other words, it's nearly impossible to figure out what everyone's doing. We have SO much talent here.

We have Misu, Slap and the other veterans, each with years of experience, each adding their own style.

We have me. Not to be a bragging fuckwit, but I think I did quite the bang-up job in the past three chapters.

We have bundles of new talent swarming in, each with their own kick-ass styles, each adding his own vision to the RP.

While all this writing awesomeness should culminate in the Best. Damn. Thing. (TM) Newgrounds has EVER seen, it's really just going into a frickin' tail spin.

I'm liking the World War X idea. But I'd like to add my own two cents. Again, see? Going off topic really quick, I think our problem is too many chefs spoiling the dish. Not that we need to cut back on chefs, maybe we need to up the dishes, if that makes any goddamn sense.

Back to my own idea, what about setting it in Half-Life 2? It has zombies, various creatures, an oppresive alien regime, etc. Plus, I think it has plenty of emotion to capture that human element. See: The ending to Episode Two. Not gonna spoil it, but holy crap did it ever kick me square in the teeth.

So, from what I'm trying to gather from all of you guys' opinions is this:

Start it over.

But, I'm going to have to disagree with you on finishing this current story arc, Shalaska.

While I also hate to leave the fate of our characters in question, I just think the story is a complete lost cause. We have WAY too many NPCs for one. I have my own ideas going about a rogue government agency, all of which is heavily tied to my character's backstory. It goes deeply into what makes us human, and how far are we willing to go in terms of what we do to each other. I'm pretty sure at least 50% of the rest of you have your own ideas about how to complete this.

So, let's tag this as our first failure, take a deeeep breath, learn from it, and then RP so amazing that the users of NG fall down and adore us.

What we need is a common goal to work towards. "Survive," that's REALLY ambiguous. A WW2 RP would obviously go towards a common theme. Namely "Win WW2 and kick Hitler's ass up and down Berlin's streets."

So, I think,( and this is just my opinion, so if you disagree, do NOT be shy about saying so. We need as much input as possible, so we can all have what we want), we should decide on our next plot ASAP, dump this one, re-fill out the start-up forms and kick this thing's ass.

Keep in mind, "Survival RPG" is VERY open to interpretation. It's focus is on surviving things. For now, we've just been doing zombie things.

What about being stranded on an island?

What about working in a hospital during a deadly epidemic?

What about living in the slums of an awful city, just trying to make it through the day?

What about members of humanity's first space colony. trying to make a new civilization on the face of a new planet?

What about working in the police force or FBI, trying to uncover a massive conspiracy?

Really, the possibilities are endless. I came up with five different senarios in like two minutes. I know that with all the amazing talent here, we can come up with a plot REALLY worth RPing in.

So come on folks, flex that creative muscle. Let's RP so hard that the forum calls a 24-hour rape hotline.

PS: I really don't think we should just abandon the thread and start a new one all over again. I've really grown attached to it, and I'd rather now just leave the old girl to die. So I'm all for a re-boot, but can we keep it in this thread pretty please?

Alright I think its time everyone took some initiative and voted for the next one. I'll list them off, and for the next two days the polls are open, unless we decide on simething earlier than that or I forgot anyone's idea (sorry).

Space Colony

WW3 I

WW2

Aliens Invade Earth

Tough life in a City

Stranded on a strange Island/Land

Zombies again

Again I am deeply sorry if I forgot anyone's idea, its just nothing is really getting done, a lot'a talk and no action. Please reply and quote, then add a 1 (like a dash) to whichever one you vote for. Again this is just what I thought of to get the old turbines spinning so if you have a better way then lets here it.

I agree with basically everything you said Blue. The current story is a lost cause unfortunately and i can safely say that it is no ones fault. There were just to many confusions and this can't be helped. We just have to make sure we can avoid these mistakes in the future.
i say the new story should stay in this thread,it's lasted more than two years and it can last at least another two.
i like the ideas of WW2 WW3 setting but i have also thought up a new one.

How about we set the story after WW3,post apocalyptic style.Think of all the ideas you could use and no one can argue that isn't reaching the boundaries of survival.

Well i threw my idea into the pot.

Now this i like. It reminds me of the book the Postman, in which a man who survives WW3 dons the uniform of a dead US Postal serviceman and Goes from little village to village (all of which have different fuedal styles of government) and unites them all under one banner. It's a really good book.

But this whole post apocalypse thing could be gold if we played it correctly. Think about it: we could have different POV on how the world fell, and then play as characters trying to survive in a world without modern conviences. We could have a group of nomads/foragers who are trying to survive by hunting (Native american style, bitch) and then another group that attempts to learn to farm: The nomads, they cross onto the shepards and farmers lands, and a battle ensues; Loved ones on both sides are lost, but the "tribes" soon become enemies, and as the nomads leave to follow their food source, they curse the farmers who have hurt them so.

Cut to scene: --- 10 years later

Yozeka is an angry headstrong young cheftain of the tribe of Yehudsa. He is fueled with an anger of 10 years of remeberance of the day his father was killed by those disgusting Rhyods (farmers if you didn't guess) his clan has devoleped weaponry with the aid of scientists studying the old weapons foraged from the remains of the nuclear disaster. He hates the Rhyods, and wants to see their distruction.

(Offensive group: If you play as one of these guys, you're gonna be a strapping young lad, armed with a bow (most likely, since they hunt buffalo, deer etc etc) and ready to fight, fueled by hatred.)

Cut to scene: --- 10 years later, on Rhyods side

Past the nuclear fallout, The Rhyods have prospered. Now led by the Shameless old man Nathaniel, they have cultivated natural sciences and healing techniques remembered by the "old" ones, who still remember the bad days. They have fortified their own defenses, their first battle has proving to them, that their only protection as a clan is protection from themselves.

(These guys play as farmers. They'll most likely have pitchforks and horses for calvary and the etc.)

now remember, if we play a game such as this, you're gonna want to be in your teenage years because as someone past 30 you are ancient. There are no modern conviences, no doctors, no clean water, etc etc, and people are gonna die really early.

Damn, looking at what i wrote, it's complete crap changing views and tenses all the time, but it doesn't matter because that's just a sketch. Although... It's a great plot for a book, you know, toss in an exotic desert and a couple, their love for each torned by the hatred and war between their people... I could make something that would hit the New york times bestseller list!

I 4th this. But I think that this should have some connections with characters from our old stories (see my last post a page back)

This is a really good idea.

A bunch of stuff

The idea is good, but I'd still like to have some stuff on the war itself, combat, or causes, a prequel mini-rp maybe, afterwards sure we can go a little crazy, within reason mind you. We don't want to make the same mistakes and get way ahead of ourselves, but all in all I agree with this idea, assuming we have an explanation type thing before any of the other stuff.

Oh also Swordstick theres a book with some of that in it, plus 100 other immensely awesome things, by Stephen King, its called The Stand, you might want to give it a spin when you get a chance, just remember the beginnings a little slow, but give it time and it won't disappoint.

Will do, although usually I stay away from king because he writes horrer, and I'm not into horror.

So obviously the notion has been approved? (waiting for jak and misu and Blue-dragon, but I think we have approval) If so, than that's good. However, chicky, you're definately right. The war needs to have some coverage, we can't just jump into it. The whole plot needs a set up before we can go into it, and for a plot it needs a plot. I personally like my plot that i wrote, but the world is not about me.

What we need to do (at least this is how I see it) in order to create a succesful Roleplay Is:

1) for starters we need to have a base-plot, a mainframe to say. Someone needs to draw up a rough chart like those we have all made in the 5th grade (see picture) one needs to be drawn up, with a mainframe for the story. How it will start, how it will end, and the large parts that will happen inbetween. Why this is important. in vanalice city we didn't have this setup. That's probably the reason why we had a group of people over at the sawmill hanging out, while everyone else was fighting off zombies over at city hall (thanks to chicky's amazing writing). With a mainframe such as the one in the picture below, (figure 1 lol) we create a flexible but inflexible (oxymoron : D) structure in which one cannot derail from the story and do his/her own thing, but there is still room for each person's own style and improv and quirks. The plot should be rigid enough so we have points to go through so that we can finish the story and not screw it up like we did when we had half the people in the sawmill for no apparent reason. This Plot should be drawn up and approved by everybody before we start.

2) Once we have a plot, then we can start RP'ing. But Stronger rules need to be put in play and enforced. You shouldn't be able to just jump in like kerma, chaz, and etc. (sorry guys but you didn't bother to do your homework, and I know it) did. Your char that you create should be in a certain position that has already been pre - determined as a character needed to be introduced into the plot. I'm afraid I'm not being clear. I mean that if we (sorry) play the Idea i created (I know, I know) we would need somebody to play the part of a leader of the government of blah blah blah. characters should be pre-determined in the story and new people should take on these characters and write as them, not random person who lives in random place, who just happens to have an Uzi and get together with someone key in the plot. Plot characters should be pre - determined and put in place as NPC'S until someone comes to take the guise of that char. Why is this necessary? My character was not relevant to the plot. Well, techincally, there was no plot. But my character was a medic from israel, who just happened to live in Vanalice city. Their should be in this new RP a pre - defined hierarchy, with characters already mapped out and understood as what they are and their relevance to the story so that the story doesn't go haywire.

3) A new character requirements sheet should be drawn up, requiring people to put effort into describing their characters and various aspects of them. Although, perhaps with #2, that wouldn't be quite necessary for the larger, more key characters, who already are mapped out, quirks to relevance.

4) Also, no/very few guns. This is after the apocolypse, hello? Guns need to be re - evented, and every bullet and every keg of powder used is a bullet and a keg not re-usable or obtainable. Better to go with more medieval weapons, Sword (oh, the irony) knives, Bow and Arrow, Pitchforks, things that people would regularly have on them in order to live. Maybe a bayonet or two... (wink)

I'm sure there is something i have missed, but at this point, I'm too lazy to write anything more. (I'm going from this to my english paper... Looks like I've gotton "In the mood" lol)
