Next time you're stuck for sounds for your songs...

try some unorthodox things.

One I really like (and was done very well in Burning) is a melding of a choir sound and a long pad into one synth.

Try it.

You might like it.

And tell me of your other weird ideas.

I did up one experiment called "Dead Man Walking Down The Yellow Brick Road", it featured the sounds of....
Heavy, heavy breathing at an extreme volume
Creepy ambient hums
A strange, ring-modded voice screaming, choped up with a noise gate and reversed
Ring modulation always owns...

0o0o0hhh! My demo for a song I'm working on is pretty interesting... I have whale calls, storms, sonars beeping, underwater sound effects :D neato stuff.

Back in the day when I was new here, I had written a song based on SFX from Morrowind 3: The Elder Scrolls (Great game, by the way. But I just got Morrowind Oblivion today, so it can go away :D) And it came out something like this.

Note: I wrote that song when I had no idea of how to write music.

When I made outside v4, i was like, 'holy shit, I could do somthing really origional and put vocals in'.

So I did.

Look where that got me :D
