my only major problem with the game is it is to slow, the oldschool sidescrolling beatemups were fast, flashy (as in seizure flashy) and had random weapons. this so far, is slow (takes to long to kill single enemys, constantly repeating the same attack until a character dies so you can advance gets boring), has flashes, but they dont come enough, like i said, its sort of slow paced. and the weapons are either one-time use, not there enough or just not that entertaining. going around with random poles that fly from the sky, or baseball bats etc. is lots of fun, but when you walk across lets just say 5 screens, to find a random object placed in the middle of the map, knowing you can use it is exciting for a bit, but they come so sparsely and few that it doesnt last long.
one sidescroller i love is a game called littlefighter. a simple game, many classes, and a little thing they took from super-smash brothers (easy combos). basically, they have up-down-left-right block-jump-attack. yet with simple commands each character had many attacks. i'll just post the link to its download, if any of you want to try it out. it has many items/characters/stages (although poorly drawn at times) and is loads of fun.

anyways, my major concern is just the overall speed of the game, dont make it to easy either. metalslug is insanely hard, which makes it insanely fun, with many weapons that are extremely diverse. now, not to rant, nor that it could change anything anymore, but alienhominid had pretty similiar guns, that just shot different looking projectiles, yet in the end did the same thing (except for ice gun and the spray-shot thing). metalslug, which you guys all know id assume, has a wide variety of guns that are all used in different ways.
anyways, it never hurts to add random weapons falling from the sky, sure, its not realistic, but then again its not splinter cell or anything, its supposed to be fun. and random weapons make lots of fun.
