Already has. Its the South East.

We would have to reteach ourselves how to read. Get people with pHd to figure out the english language again.

Not all languages have writing. I imagine we'd adopt an oral tradition.

reading has always been more of a way to move thoughts and ideas. With todays technology we could just as easily send sound files around everywhere.

Our growing dependence on laws only shows how uncivilized we are.

I suggest you interpret the book better.

People could still read, infact there was still books around. It was the fictional books that were burned.

It was a pretty good book. I heard that Michael Moore is pretty pissed at Ray Bradbury for stealing the name from him without permission though.

I think the topic-starter was refering to ACTUALLY not being able to read. Instead of the Government declaring all books being illegal to own.

Vice-versa.

It was written in the late 50s.

if the world suddenly lost the ability to read, it would be chaos.

we would have to resolve to audio and video only.

enough with fahrinhiet 451!! it was a good book but it was about people burning books. in fact, they still read, just billboards 200 miles long because people drove 300 mph. Now lets just talk about if we woke up and not a single person on earth or coming into it could read.

What do you mean by that? And what, might I ask, is a "fuck tart [sic.]"?

Literacy is very, very political. reading=knowledge, knowledge=political savvy.

All of our knowledge (what we could manage) would be passed down to the next generation by mouth, if we couldn't read ever again.

I Live in the South East, and I can read. It's the best part of the country, I'll have you know! Minus the republicans... and the rednecks.... Well, minus all the people. But, after you take away most of the people here, it really is a nice place to live. But there's nowhere to shop, and hardly any good restaurants.... Well, minus everything except the actual area itself, and it's a nice place to live.
