A friend sent me a link to this earlier. I've submitted a couple of folk tracks, although I'm pretty sure that folk is not likely to be high on their list of desirable content, and I don't really want a 'professional makeover'.
If you make good music and are from the UK, I don't really see you've got much to lose. READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU UPLOAD, though. Just so you're aware that you're giving O2 the permission to do pretty much whatever they want with the tracks you upload.
Send in a demo for your chance to win the
O2 Undiscovered Bursary
The Search
Open to all solo artists and bands, O2 Undiscovered is a search to find the UK's best up-and-coming music talent. Our panel of judges won't care how you do your hair or what you look like. We just want to hear music that's fresh and original. Whether you're into garage, grime, indie, folk, art pop, whatever – all that counts is you and your sound.
The Prize
One main prize winner will receive an O2 Undiscovered Bursary. The bursary includes recording and releasing a track with one of the UK's leading record labels, mentoring by industry professionals, the chance to perform at the O2 Wireless Festival and more. Additionally, we want to recognise original artists from within O2 so the most talented O2 customer will receive a special industry opportunity.
To Enter
To apply, simply complete the online application form and upload two tracks as MP3s – the maximum file size for each track is 5Mb.

Aw man.... the UK was always cool like that, electronica and other goodies (such as breakdancing) are highly popular over there, unlike here in the states, all we have is junky emo rock, pop and skateboarding.

Aha, I didn't realise that you had to have a mobile. I guess it makes sense, since O2 are a mobile phone company.... erm, you could try just making up a random 11-digit number starting with 07 - they can always use your email address to get in touch...

I found my old, REALLY old nokia phone, which is on vodaphone and (fortunatly) has some credit left. Excuse me while I phone myself to figure out what it's number is.
Also, your new sig rocks, however you may need to elaborate the meaning of the word 'pants' incase there are any muddled yanks about.

well i'm in the contest, not that I can find my own tracks on the site. It's so damned buggy, it crashes when you try to list by author, and dosnt show anything when you list by track.

And the fact that 90% of you aren't from the UK, having a mobile phone or not, wouldn't matter.

The friend who told me about the site told me tonight that the content is updated weekly. Seems a bit stupid, to me, but I guess they must have retarded webmasters or something.
