i think i just might be able to this!
How was this done?
my phone has video and you can pause the video and continue in another spot...good for random videos or for making klay movies lol although its gonna be a bit chopy and only 50seconds...

It was just a few pots & pans moving arround. Unfortunaly I cant find it anymore, must have been on the harddrive that quit it's job... But it was nothing special- its easy.
Actually I would use the Photo-function. Take pictures, send them to your computer (Bluetooth, Memorycard, Cable...) and import them into Monkeyjam. Done.
If cellphones drop in price, I might create a j2me Stopmotion application for cellphones ;-) The cheapest cam-phone I saw was 39 euros ($45 or so), but only had 8mb of memory.
Anyway, using the video function will result in bad compression, and short sequences of movement- plus some phones have a limit on recordingtime (mine has 1hr+, its a Nokia 9500...)
Still, i might as well try to make a new one in a bit!
Back to the movie discussion now...

Well I ahve an Idea, we should get a song, shorten it to maybe 3 minutes, and it should be a good dancing song, we could have a clay dancing thing. Or we could all do our own shorts. I would not mind putting it all together one bit, but I need help on monkeyjam! So yes I am up for it, the idea is great but we need guidelines. We cant just have clay guys doing stuff off topic now can we? Yes If someone gives me an idea that everyone is okay with I can make the parts and assign people. But ThorKingOfTheVikings would have to be in it, just because I would have to do my stopmotion aprt at his house, my camera is broken, but maybe I couls but my own. Anyway I will talk to you all later, but I hope this idea works!
P.S. Hynesy your finally back on lol
Yoddtacos, what are you having problems with? Did you watch my short videotutorial? If you have any specific questions I can make some screenshots or a videotutorial.
Monkeyjam is not required, but it might make things easier to use single pictures instead of an over-compressed movie. But its everybodies free choice.
Also frame rate should be no trouble. Its no big deal to synch the fps by changing the slower movies to a higher framerate with higher picturedelay.
Lots to talk about before starting this, unless you want to do freestyle. Maybee I should just whip up a small forum for this, or a site, to upload media and create a Monkeyjam toppic as well as a poll so we can decide more easily? Just an Idea, it has its flaws too.
Of course we could aslo publish multiple videos, either in groups, singles (contest?), so we have more people that can join. Even though I dont really like it, we will have to either have a minimum quality standard here, or teams with at least one good artist in order to pass the NG ratings :-/
One more thought: If we do not use (commercial) music, I could also bring it to one of the local TV-Stations. Dont get too exited now, these are only brodcasting in the local cable network, and everybody can go there. Its not too special.
An still unanswered question from one of my previous postings:
What hardware (camera...) do you guys use?
I am affraid that many dont have a VGA/640x480/300.000 pixel resolution camera, but since the format will be cif(100.000px) it will be not so dramatic.
Too bad they still sell those! Good cams, if you can find them, cost only 8-20 bucks and have similar or same quality to a more expensive quickcam pro for example.
.
What I would aprecheate though, is:
-flicker free
(Please go to your camera settings and disable auto brightness/contrast/alpha/whatever)
-Decent set
(Please no people walking behind which makes them swoosh through the movie, no stuff "dissapearing" like bottles, stuff you use.. ;-) You get the idea.)
-good lighting
(Whats worse then a too-dark-to-see-details movie? ;-) Get a desklamp, dont point it directly at the set, else you will have heavy shadows. Putting a white box or something next to the set and point the lamp at it will cause a smooth light.
I hope I dont start to sound like if I was directing this :-)
Its just my two cents, and from my time as teacher I know good organisation helps a lot.
