Shush you, it's a good album. No Silent Alarm of course... perhaps on par with AWITC.

I've got questions. Does Go Sailor counts as an Indie band, and what does Deftones fall under?

I've never heard of Does Go Sailor, but I've heard Change (In the House of Flies) and Lotion by Deftones, and aren't they more...metal?

I think it was me, I put "counts" instead of "count".

just to say, 'Human' by the Killers is a genuinely good, exciting song, and it's surprising to me that after years and years of the same Indie Rock in the UK a new-sounding decent song should come out. But then I suppose it was kind of due after all those years. Like it's kinda harking back to Pulp's 'Different Class' album and 80s new wave before that. I actually like the song; sounds nothing like anything else out nowadays.

I like how different their sound is, and I've been meaning to check out that new album too. Is it better than Hot Fuss?

I don't know about people not liking them, but compared to other grunge/early '90 rock bands they don't get as much exposure. Siamese Dream is an incredible album too.

I hate people who spell Lynard Skynard wrong.

So anyway, I thought I'd try and revive this.

I'm going to Reading Festival again (fourth year running) and it has its most indie/alternative lineup ever, seemingly ditching the normal "rock day" that in the past has been headlined by GnR, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, etc. Great for me, but not so for many. Oh well, they'll live.

Otherwise, been getting into a lot of folk-ey indie, stuff like Noah & The Whale, Laura Marling, Emmy The Great, etc, etc, etc.

Anyone got any suggestions, or suggestions for any indie bands at all?

I have Day & Age, and yeah, it's great. I recommend it.

True.

So, uh, sup? I'm patiently wating at my mailbox for Kid A and Nirvana to arrive.

idk, it took me quite a while to get into Kid A.... it was the first of their "wierd" (and I use that phrase lightly) albums (Amnesiac, Kid A, Hail To The Thief) that I properly listened to, and I'm still not a MASSIVE fan of it... but it's still a great listen, and each to their own. Have fun with it.

As for Nirvana, I've never properly listened to them at all, perhaps slightly unfair from my behalf, but whatevs.

I've been listening to a lot of Iron & Wine and Sufjan Stevens lately. Sufjan Stevens' song titles are unnecessarily long, but I love his Illinois album. He has this little "Fifty States" project where he plans to make an album about all fifty states. Pretty interesting, I'd like to see how it goes for him.

I really liked Kid A, it's my favourite tied with In Rainbows.

But still, OK Computer is amazing.

Because the Killers are from the UK? As much as it pains me to listen to American music, they're one of the best bands today, especially hot fuss.

Congratulations, sir.

I just got a few albums:
Hard FI: The Stars of CCTV
Arctic Monkeys: Whatever You Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Arctic Monkeys: Favourite Worst Nightmare
The Kooks: Konk

They all kick ass. I'm really lovin' Konk.

My friend told me to listen to The Microphones and sent me an album (the glow part 2) last week and It's pretty fuckin good, I thought I'd post a couple of my favorite songs here cuz they're pretty indie and idk someone might like them !
I want wind to blow - the first song on their album the glow pt.2 which is the only one I have of theirs, i like the melody :0
I felt your shape - Kinda lovey-dovey but i still like it
I hope you wish you'd die - I like the name of this song heh

the glow pt. 2 the song is also really good but I dont feel like finding a link to it, if you like this stuff you should look it up though, or just get the whole album :]

I guess I'm going to post here, Although considering this is only onto like page 20 after 3 years, I don't see the harm in creating a new thread for it. Evidence shows you'll get new threads with more members and posts than trying to revive an old thread. But regardless.

I know not all of these are Alternative bands, And odds are most things that people say, I'll already have, But can you guys give me some recommendations for someone who's favorite bands are along these lines:

- Blink 182.
- Paramore.
- Boys Like Girls.
- We The Kings.

That sort of basic style. I've got enough grunge and whatnot sort of music, And I want to get more of this PunkPop stuff going in my library.

I've never looked for an Indie/Alt crew on here, didn't think there was one.

Guess that's me joined then.
