mine are at 42, and a simple drawing, with little detail, lags when in motion...and by tweening. curious to what the hell causes it?
help is appreciated :)

Try and set your FPS at 12, or something lower

Most movies are done at 12, 24 ,or 30. I mainly go with 24 for a moderate smoothness.

Damn, 42 is really going overboard. More FPS = more drawings = more filesize and lag.
I use 24 or 30, they both are pretty smooth and kind of the "control" fps if you will. I can double or triple frame if needed, or do full on fbf to make it smooth or show speed.

42 is smoother, but too much on time a filesize. However, if you wanna go real Hardcore, try 120 FpS

20 for me.
It totally depends on what you want to do, My stuff is pretty dialog heavy and I think 20fps is the bare minimum for my style of lip-sync'ing to look accurate.

i fbf everything with the movie set at 12 fps, then i set the movie to 24 fps and split the frames in half and fill em in with more drawings. recently i've been doing it at 30 fps because the guy programming our game is being stubborn : (
looks fucking good though

i just realized my post had absolutley nothing to do with this thread. yeah, movies and games lag alot when they're set that high

I use 25 FPS a lot. 12 is too laggy, and 35+ FPS will involve more frame and blow the filesize.

For me, 20 to 24 is satisfactory.

Mines are sometimes at 30, other times I manually put it at 15 or its automatically on 12 :)

I run at 60 most of the time.
I know full well that most browsers won't be able to keep up to it, so I never expect the framerate to be kept and code accordingly. I like to think that one day the program will run smoothly though (once PCs are faster).
All my animations are AS controlled though, so it's not a problem.

Holy crap! I never go higher than 30, but 60!!???!?!?! Wow..

18-24 for me. 24-29 is standard, most films run at 24-29 frames per second, anything more than that is pointless, as all your doing is suspending belief by flashing a number of images within a second. To achieve a realistic effect all you need is 24-29 (24 pal, 29 ntsc). Remember, theres no need to give your self more work than you need, because at 24-29, it looks fine, people wont notice afterwards.

yes, 24 is great, but if it doesn't suit you change it, its really kind of a personal opinion.

Not even professional animation studios use 800 fps. That's just insane.
