The more i read your posts, the more i compare you to an evangelist :P Determined that you MUST be right and that you ALWAYS have perfect undeniable 'proof' not that i'm saying i always disagree with you, but you generally put that accross to me :P
I don't take positions unless I can prove them, or unless I state I can't prove them. With regards to the arguments I've been in about the Uk vs. US issue, I am always right. I wouldn't take a position unless I knew I was right and could prove it, and I have proved my arguments every single time.
I didn't say "the US is better than the UK as a whole beacuse of this". What I did do is show that the specific reasons people gave for why the UK is better are incorrect, and proved that they were wrong and that when the facts are shown, the US was superior in a certain aspect. That's why it's so hilarious for Tawc to say what he did beacuse he knows the exact opposite of what he says is true. He is completely full of complete nonsense, the stances he takes to suggest the UK is better in some aspect are literally ALWAYS WRONG, not a matter of opinion, but a matter of historical accuracy or reality.

How can you state that about an entire country of people.
Not all British people are that way.
But there is a large, very widespread societal outlook among British people that they are raised with. They have a very backward, distorted way of looking at things, especially how they look at the US. They latch on to myths and complete lies in order to feel better about their country or to belittle the US, and tawc as an individual embodies that behavior perfectly.
He has a very long history of regurgitating wacky British myths about Americans, only to have what he said disproved, line by line, completely and thoroughly voided of any credibility.
You say "My pride is well founded, your pride is a shallow", I ask you, what is this "well founded pride" based on and who the hell are you, to tell any one, that their pride is shallow.
When I take a position in defense of the US, as part of my pride, I will not lie. I will not willingly embellish the details, nor will I mindlessly parrot myths. This is what tawc does, and this is what A LOT of British people do.
Therefore their pride is shallow when it is based on lies, and when they willingly take stances they know are inaccurate and false just for the purpose of defending their country. That shows you that they are content with deception for the purpose of building up their country or ripping down the US, this shows you their pride is shallow.
To take one example of the stupidity you spout.
You slate England's health care system, while you live in a country where the poor can not get medical attention.
And this is a perfect example of a British myth. You are lead to believe that Americans that can't insurance are ignored or refused medical treatment completely. When in fact, Americans of all income levels and social statuses have access to healthcare that is better than the ridiculous universal system the UK has, and other countries have.
A good example is the treatment of cancer. Cancer is just about the biggest risk to public health in both the UK and the US, a pretty big deal, and the US is more successful at treating it than the British are (and Europeans/Canadians as well), with higher survivability rates, and access to treatment that is better regardless of whether or not Americans are covered.
Let's take a peak at the facts:
According to the survey of cancer survival rates in Europe and the United States, published recently in Lancet Oncology:
- American women have a 63 percent chance of living at least five years after a cancer diagnosis, compared to 56 percent for European women.
- American men have a five-year survival rate of 66 percent - compared to only 47 percent for European men.
- Among European countries, only Sweden has an overall survival rate for men of more than 60 percent.
- For women, only three European countries (Sweden, Belgium and Switzerland) have an overall survival rate of more than 60 percent.
These figures reflect the care available to all Americans, not just those with private health coverage. Great Britain, known for its 50-year-old government-run, universal health care system, fares worse than the European average: British men have a five-year survival rate of only 45 percent; women, only 53 percent.
It is often claimed that people have better access to preventive screenings in universal health care systems. But despite the large number of uninsured, cancer patients in the United States are most likely to be screened regularly, and once diagnosed, have the fastest access to treatment. For example, a Commonwealth Fund report showed that women in the United States were more likely to get a PAP test for cervical cancer every two years than women in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Great Britain, where health insurance is guaranteed by the government.
- In the United States, 85 percent of women aged 25 to 64 years have regular PAP smears, compared with 58 percent in Great Britain.
- The same is true for mammograms; in the United States, 84 percent of women aged 50 to 64 years get them regularly - a higher percentage than in Australia, Canada or New Zealand, and far higher than the 63 percent of British women.
--------
Let's look survival rates from all cancers.
United States
Female: 62.9%
Male: 66.3%
United Kingdom
England
Female: 52.7%
Male: 44.8%
Scotland
Female: 48%
Male: 40.2%
Wales
Female: 54.1%
Male: 47.9%
North Ireland
Female: 51%
Male: 42%
I agree that the hospitals in America will be richer compared to NHS ones in England, that is obvious. I can say whole heartedly say that I am glad I live in a place where every one gets treated for free
Taxes are free? Interesting.
regardless of their finances, even if the treatment may not be as good as private health care.
In universal healthcare systems, the government takes money away from its citizens, and chooses what healthcare they get. You're not getting anything or free, you're having your money taken from you, and you're getting a one-size-fits-all, crappy healthcare policy that you have basically zero control over.
Your government controls your healthcare, you do not. That's the difference between the US system and your system. I get to choose, you don't. My healthcare is between me and my healthcare provider, I make the decisions. And in the process I have access to healthcare that is of better quality, and this would be true even if I didn't have insurance.
America is a brilliant place, with a variation of people, like any country.
I think you, from what I have witnessed, are an absolute idiot. You spread meaningless words in a childish vain attempt to make others feel bad and promote your ego.
And you're a dumb alt that is too afraid to face me with your regular account.
