I dunno what everybody has against the english. I traveled to London in '04, time of my fucking life i tell you. Dont hate. Half the peeps in this forum who are sayin shit probably have never been there go there and nut up, or sit down and shut up (yes its sposed to rhyme). And the dude above me from scotland may have the only real reason to hate the brits.

To be honest, looking at the relationship of England and the US for the first 100 years of the USA's existence, you wouldn't think it was possible.

(mostly because germany was preparing for all our war on most of europe) it made economic sense to be friendly with britain for trade! wow what a concept free trade, money and alliance....hmmmm ya i cant see how they could ever be friendly. so what happened in 1914? "Oh shit ze germans are coming" shout the helpless and pathetic french. Due to entangling alliances the Brits get involved and we supply them with guns and bombs and all sorts of cool explosive shit. Than the german uboat sank our ship with civilians and weapons, we get involved, and budda boom budda bang you got yourself two of the strongest industrialized nations allied together. When men spill blood on the field of battle in a united cause, i do not think there is better way to bond as allies. Than again in 1939, ze pussy bitch french and their maginot line fail to protect themselves, who do they call for help? the brits fight the battle of britain until dec 7 1941, and the we get caught with our pants around our ankles, and we are pissed. We ship our boys out to europe again, and fight and win a war again with the brits as our most efficient and dependable ally. (not to mention we put western germany back together and did what we could to topple the soviet juggernaut on the other side of the wall, all with the support of britain). do you still think we could never be allies or am i whistling dixie out of my ass (in the words of Clive Owen in Inside man good movie you should watch it)

I am British and i signed up to this forum just to inform the world that i do in fact eat crumpets and afternoon tea. I do love England, more for the land itself than the culture, although i do intend to move away to either America or Australia. Anyway in all seriousness though i do hate France :)

I am english and i know french and german, as do most people my age. The myth that english do not speak any language apart from our own is unfounded. The reason for that is America speaks english, because like it or not most none native-americans are founded from England. Get your facts right little boy.

And that's partially the reason why British people are so obsessed off their ass with the US, specifically any negative they can find about the US. British people are raised to hate Americans, because it helps them feel better, and create a sense of pride that couldn't exist if they were actually objective and honest about their perception of the US and Americans.
