here are the obvious that come to mind...
Green Day, SOAD, Simple Plan, and it saddens me that it has come to this but... Metallica. Their first cd kicks ass, and the 4 that follow it are respectable... but to be called Thrash gods or inventors of metal as we know it today? : ( My opinion might not be valid though, not knowing what i would think of them if their music didnt deteriorate like with Load/Reload/St.Shit.

To be quite honest I don't really know. But among metal fans it's not considered metal. Nu-metal was origionally suppose to be a derogative term, but for some reason started being used as the actual name for the genre. If you want a more in depth explanation go ask in Metal Hell.

Anywho, no, I've heard plenty of metal. Death, Black, Nu, Metalcore, Metal.... I really don't like any of it. Unless it's mixed really well with like, tech-grind, hardcore, screamo, ambient, or something else, I almost garuntee I won't like it.

Sorry, I just assumed that if you didn't like it so much that you probably wouldn't have bothered to go and listen that many different styles, but if you have I apologise.

I can't believe only one other person said this: Metallica. They have got too be the most overrated band. And Whats with SOAD? They are a litttle overrated I guess, but not that much.

Probably the biggest thing I don't like about SOAD is the fact that they went on tour with The Mars Volta (which I totally love) and the fans were there for SOAD and didn't embrace what TMV had to offer. If the fans of SOAD love their "progressive" edge so much, than why aren't they willing to accept a band that leads the way for modern prog?

Nirvana, They are a complete bullshit band, and Nevermind was over-rated so badly. They are credited with the foundatian of grunge, which is bullshit, because they were never apart of the Seattle Sound (7 bands that were around and helped structure the genre known as grunge). Mother Love Bone and Andrew Wood should be called the founders of grunge, since they were around way before Nirvana polluted the airwaves. SoundGarden, Mother Love Bone, and Alice In Chains were all apart of the seattle sound. And after Andrew Wood Died in 1989, Nirvana took his music and made Bleach, and stole the guitar riff from bostan's more then a feeling to make one of the most shite, and over-rated songs "Smells like teen spirit" and the grunge scene and the seattle sound felt betrayed by Cobains thievery, which is why Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam never associated with Nirvana. And Jeff Buckley, an under-rated, yet amazing artist thought Nirvana were tools. And that ends my little post on why Nirvana sucks, and are over-rated.

Oh, I'm sorry, oh elder please forgive me for having different musical preferences than you. Their old stuff is great, but their new stuff isn't. My sig doesn't have to reflect my username in any way, shape, or form, if I don't want it to.
